Anyone tried the AOI RGBlue video light?

I plan to use the lights for shooting video with my T2i (mostly 10-17 FE) and GoPro.

I am trying to decide between the Sola 2000 Flood and the AOI RGBlue System01.  I assume the Sola 2000 would be the "safe" choice, but the RGBlue appears to have some advantages:  wider beam, more even light, replaceable battery pack.  Disadvantages: A little larger, a little heavier.

Thanks for any advice/information.

Canon 100mm IS macro lens, will Macro port C41 + Extension 50 work?

04 June 2013 - 08:07 AM

I currently use the Canon EF-S 60mm macro in the Nauticam N60 port and I add the locking extension ring 30 when I use the Canon 100mm IS macro lens.  There was no C41 port available back when I bought the N60 macro port and the EF-S 60mm macro lens sits pretty far back in the port.  Would it be advantageous to get the C41 port since the macro objective lens would be much closer to the port glass (particularly for when I use the Subsee +10 threaded diopter on the macro port)?

I was wondering if the Canon 100mm IS macro lens would work ok with the Nauticam macro port C41 + the locking extension ring 50?

Thanks.

Replacing Canon G10 system, which point/shoot?

22 February 2013 - 11:28 AM

I am starting to look at the options for replacing my wife's Canon G10/FIX housing system.  Her absolute #1 requirement is that the new system MUST MUST support TTL in the camera's 'manual' mode.  The Canon G10 does not support this and it aggravates her to no end.

#2) She would like to keep her S&S YS-01 strobes (and ultralight arms/etc).

#3) requirement would be decent 1080P video.

Suggestions for a camera and housing?

Thanks.
