Wonder how difficult it would be to shoot looking down on the LCD monitor when it is folded face up? Shooting 'from the hip' so to speak like the old medium format cameras. That would eliminate the need for a huge housing.

Oh crap I didn't see they got rid of the RAW feature....never mind.....what the heck were they thinking?!?
Anyone know what Canon's thinking is on going to the SD cards? I got the S2 IS...nice camera for the backback but has the darn SD card...which is begging to get lost or mistaken for a snack.

Any word on accessories? like a battery grip?
I wish they had made the 5D with the same weather proofing they did for the D series. I may keep saving my pennies and catch a 1Ds MkII. I'm running in circles of indecision!
Thank goodness for the edit button I answered my own question... 2 more reviews for us fence sitters..at least it won't be out until Oct/Nov.

In Topic: Your advice please on the Canon PowerShot S2 IS

I have the S2IS and it is amazing. Fast start up, fast shutter response and its super easy to go to movie mode, just hit the red button on the back, no turning dials. I used the S1IS for quite awhile when i was with the USGS because it was super compact (even with Canon's housing on it) and took great images. I needed a compact camera since I was carrying so much other gear (water testing equipment, sample jars etc.) and a full size DSLR with housing was just too cumbersome.
I hope ikelite, or someone will come out with a housing for the S2 since it is such a super camera....hint hint!!!
