Not only have they used your material without permission, they are also treating you as an idiot. I don't know what kind of costs you are trying to get for the unused footage, but I would certainly seek legal advise on compensation as well as for unauthorised usage. Good luck

In Topic: Clamps - how tightly before, during, after dive?

04 April 2014 - 08:12 AM

I have mine locked off tight until in the water then loosen them off just enough so they don't collapse, but loose enough so I can adjust my strobe positions without having to touch the clamps. Then re tighten them on my safety stop ready for the boat boy to handle the rig and be able to put it down and the rig not move around once on the boat deck. I never let the guys on the boats put my rig inside a rinse tank either. Generally boat boys are good at handling rigs, but I always speak to them prior to getting in the water and ask them to pick it up in a certain way and also to put it down in a certain way as well.

Who are you flying to Egypt with?
For future reference if flying there again, either fly with easy jet as they don't have a weight limit for hand luggage. Or fly via Cairo with Egypt air as they offer great hold luggage weights. Flying through Cairo isn't that bad. Even with a 3 hour stop over, you get to Sharm before most UK flights even take off. Generally Egypt air flights are late at night, getting you to the Red Sea early morning. Most UK charters or schedules leave mid morning, so you get to the Red Sea early evening. I am in and out of Egypt a few times a year and will only fly with these two
