There must be a lot of knowledge on this question from wet pixel members but it's a little difficult to find a summary by searching.
If I get a Nikkor 105 VR with its 62mm filter thread what make and strength diopters are people using? The aim is to get more magnification than 1:1
I'm interested in something that you can actually go and buy rather than something that is no longer sold.
Thanks

Sea & Sea SX extention ring
17 May 2007 - 03:11 AM
Can anyone tell me how long the Sea & Sea SX extention ring is?
Sea & Sea have a 40 mm and a 22 mm but I wonder why this one is not listed in mm?
Thanks

105VR in a Sea&Sea housing + NX flat port
07 March 2007 - 06:37 AM
Can anyone tell me if the Nikkor 105 VR micro lens will fit in to a Sea&Sea housing using the standard NX flat port (the rubber bumpered version).
Previous posts mention how fat this lens, sometimes too fat to fit.
If it does fit, what extention ring is needed. The old 105 lens needed a 40mm ring.
Thanks

Yes - another dome port question re: split level shots
28 February 2007 - 06:28 AM
This year I really want to have a go at some split level shots. I have a 10.5 lens and a Sea & Sea compact dome.
My attemps so far have only proved just how hard these shots can be.
How much easier would I find it by using the larger fisheye dome?
Should I also consider a Sea & Sea/Athena glass dome if water droplets are apparently repelled more easily?
Any advice appreciated.

Nikon 4T dioptre on 105mm lens
28 February 2007 - 06:07 AM
A friend recently let me have a go with a 105mm micro Nikkor fitted with a Nikon 4T dioptre.
After only having used a 60mm lens I was keen to see what I could do with this combination at the limit of close focus.
I came back with some pleasing images but was not exactly sure what this lens and dioptre were doing. I sensed a bit of extra magnification and a shallower depth of field but I've no idea by how much.
Apart from a + 2.9 rating can anyone explain in simple terms what you get with this dioptre?
