Please join us in the Times Mirror room of the Natural History Museum at 7:30pm, Wednesday August 15, to learn all about the new cameras that are threatening to take over the underwater scene. Scott Gietler from Bluewater Photo will tell us all about the new micro 4/3 cameras from Olympus and Panasonic that combine a really small size with remarkable interchangeable lenses. These cameras offer image quality that is comparable to many digital SLRs but in a much more manageable package - and they shoot video! Scott will be showing us some goodies and since these cameras can shoot awesome video he will be showing some video clips from some local dive spots.
We’ll be trying something new at the August meeting: the first half-hour of the meeting will be a swap meet. Lots of us have old camera or dive gear hanging around that we’re not using. If it’s still in good shape, please bring it to the meeting. Members are encouraged to donate, trade, or sell (at reasonable prices) their unused equipment to meeting attendees.
So that we have some sense of how much table space to clear before the meeting, please PM me with a rough outline of what you're planning to bring. Thanks!
