Florida diving

15 March 2010 - 12:26 PM

I'm planning a trip to Florida in June/July and consider to squeeze a day or two of diving into the schedule.

I'm thinking somewhere in the keys, which is best Key West or Key Largo. I know that they have the Vanderberg close to Key West but is there something else?

All suggestions and advice are more than welcome ;)

Ikelite dome...again :)

15 October 2009 - 10:32 AM

More about Ikelite domeports... ^_^

I own a ikelite housing (canon 40d) and have recently bought a Tokina 10-17 fisheye lens.

Previously I used a Sigma 10-20 behind a 8" Dome and a 5510.16 port body.

Ikelite suggests I should use a 5510.10 (which basically is a shorter port body) with the Tokina.

I mounted the camera with the new lens and used with the regular port body and it seems to work ok without any vignetting. Might add I've only tried it dry so far...

Now the question. Why should I get the shorter port body? Will the lens work better if positioned closer to the dome (which is the case with the shorter port body)???

Hope anyone could help me with this question...
