Webhosting videofiles for progressive download

01 September 2007 - 01:13 AM

Hi.

More and more hosting company's offers large amount of traffic and also okey for big files download.

I have made a test account with a webhosting company i Los Angeles, but the download speed is awful, and it's buffering all the time, making it's useless.

It might be the distance from Denmark to the US westcoast, so couldt any of you in Califonia test this videofile, and see if it will download okey ?

It's a 480x360 - 1mbit wmv file - www.skagenmedia.com/skagen/fireworks.wmv

Anyone else with a good webhost ?

Naturally Ningaloo DVD

13 March 2007 - 11:43 PM

Wags and Kelly,

I thought that you would like some feedback on your Naturally Ningaloo DVD.

First of all, I was expecting images of high quality - and guess what ? I got it ! I must say, even thoug it still is only a SD DVD, the images on my LG 32 " LCD is truely awesome :P

The nature shots from the canyons was fantastic (All the time I was looking for Crocodille Dundee, or was it Mad Max :P )

Underwater images was extremely sharp and colorfull. For pure image quality, I haven't seen anything close on my LCD TV before, and that's quite a statement :)

For your information, I can tell you that just after I saw your DVD there was a show on the national danish tv station about artificial reefs, the undewater shots in that show was terribel, absolutely 110% crap, so much for the stations high standards on raw material - bulls... :)

So it was a wonderful experience to se your DVD.

Finally, just so you don't think that there is nothing to improve. ^_^

In my opinion:

I like it when the naturally sound is in the background. When I see the surf, I like to hear it too, when I see a boat speeding through the water, I like to hear it too, you get the point ?

To many "fade-to-blacks", tricky, cause I like to use them aswell, but they tend to stop the ongoing action.

Kellys voice, your narration is great but, how shall I put it, I know you don't have a professional sound studio, but I think there is to much "room" (I don't know how to say it in english), but it is the sound from a room that is not "sound-dead". I sometimes try to optimize the voice-over in a sound program, playing with the equalizer, and sometimes it helps.

But when all that is said, it is still a great DVD witout any doubt

I have made a small posting in my blog, sheduled for later today, and hopefully some danes might get by your site, and actually buy your DVD.

Stay cool B)
