Final question is, even if you get all this gear. Are the images at the widest angle as sharp or sharper than those you can get with a DX system?


I d like to know this answer.


For me if the FX format is better I will buy a D800. (Sigma 15mm)

If Dx is better I will wait for D400 (tokina 10-17mm) or 7D markII (Canon L 8-15mm).

I spoke with Harald Hordosch is SEACAM over weekend about his plans for D800. He will support it , of course, as it will be a very significant camera for uw photography. It will be a traditional SEACAM Silver design, not the Prelude concept. I assume most manufacturers will support this one.


My dream housing is a SEACAM or a SUBAL.......unfortunately the price is a very important aspect.

In many ways it is rather like a successor to the D2X (and to a lesser extent, D3X). I liked the camera more than I wanted to - as I can't justify buying it at present.

I was going to write something more detailed later. I wasn't expecting the announcement today - so I'll have to gather my thoughts.
