MBK Bangkok, pro shark finning?

2011, keep on diving.

Happy new year to all.
Keep the underwater realm a safe and happy place to be.
Keep educating those ignorant or too afraid to join us.
Keep trying to save the sharks.
Keep enjoying the big (sharks) and the small (clown fish) alike.
Keep taking nothing but memories.
Enjoy and be safe.

Canon 7D setup.
11 December 2010 - 02:33 PM
I am going on a trip of a lifetime next year (sorry to keep harping and making you jealous), and was going to go with a $1000 setup.
But thought, why?
Why not get the good stuff.
Canon 7D and acc.
So here is what I am thinking:
http://www.bhphotovi...igital_SLR.html
http://www.bhphotovi..._Housing_f.html
http://www.bhphotovi...robe_Video.html
I am guessing I would need 2 strobes, correct?
Is there a better/cheaper brand?
Can I use the power grip for the 7D while its in the housing?
Any other info/tips I should consider?
cheers

Cheap camera & housing for GWS at Guadalupe.
26 November 2010 - 08:35 PM
I am looking at a cheap camera and housing for shooting pics of great white sharks at Guadalupe next October.
It will be a back up/2nd rig on top of my Sony HC9 video camera/housing.
I am looking at a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX5 and Ikelite housing.
http://www.bhphotovi...tal_Camera.html
http://www.bhphotovi...ct_Housing.html
I am wondering would a flash/light be any good?
Most shots will be at only 1-2 metres with some down to 7-10 metres.
Would 2 be better than 1?
http://www.bhphotovi...elite_4035.html and
http://www.bhphotovi...ite_4035_1.html or
http://www.bhphotovi...be_DS_51_w.html
Any other tips/info?
cheers
