Full Version: I'm lazy and need an audio plug-in

What I'm looking for is a plug-in that allows you to select (or batch process) audio clips to place them all at the same volume levels.

I have about 40 different clips of narration that I can't seem to get equal in volume by hand. Surely there's something for lazy people like me?

Hi,

in Final Cut Pro there is such a possibility to equalize the narration. I am not before my mac, so couldn't say which is, but you may find it in the menu...

Thanks for the point, Jules, but alas as a PC guy this does me no good....

hey James - follow this.... a few VEEEERY simple steps to Freedom!!!

- set the audio level that you wish to use on (say) the first audio clip in your timeline.....

- right click (or whatever other technique you use) and copy the audio clip......

(you could follow Edit -> Copy)

- highlight ALL other audio clips in the timeline that you'd like to effect.....

- right click and this time select "paste attributes"......

(or Edit -> Paste Attributes)

this brings up an options box of which particular attributes you'd like to paste.....

in this case we're gonna use the obvious one... "levels"........

VOILA!!!!

Enjoy and good luck

Yes, I certainly can do this and tried it before I posted.....

All it does, though, is place them all at the same amount of eq, for example, sets them all at +5.60 dB.

That's not what I need. These are all narration clips that have different vocal levels. Some sound loud and some sound soft. I want some smart little snippet of software that runs through all the clips, listens to them, and sets them all to sound the same by boosting or lowering (as appropriate) the eq on each clip.
