Hi,
I think the best person who can anser your question is the dealer
you purchased it from. Most of Nexus d200 housing I know of has M5 port
but, Anthis announced that they will make d200 (type2 ?) with M6 port
& you can buy M6-M5 adapter if you want to use M5(Nexus Master,d100,
d70 etc).

You dealer should know. I suggest you look at the port part description. e.g. I have a D80 which is an M5 and port PNs *****-5.

Thanks, for the suggestions. Ofcourse I have tryed to contact several sellers and directly to the manufactor, but I don't get any answers.

I have checked the numbers om my gear but can't make any sence of them, maybe some of you can.

My housing has a stampt number in both parts # 115108, I assume it's the serial #
2 extensionrings: Model 16303 PE20-5 00056 anthis Japan // Model 18316 PE20-7 00075 anthis Japan
Lens cap: Model 18307 PC-R-7 Anthis Japan
Port/dome: 13307-3 no. 01466 anthis japan

Again thanks for helping a wacko.gif newbie

Zaritas or Peter,
Nexus d200 housing you purchased from e-bay has M5 port. For your 12-24 ring gear, I would suggest
to contact one of sponser here. Marine Camera Distributer is Nexus dealer in US. You can also, ask them
about factory modification to d300.

I think it could be a lot easier to get answer if you were telling here what do you need from beginning....

Hey Sam

You seem to be the smartest man in here when it comes to Nexus, so thanks for replying good.gif

What I need is to know what portsize I use.... Because I'm allways looking for ekstra gear eg. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=270301149028

The seller also told me that my housing is M5.... But why does the manufactor claim (look up to the top graf) that its only made as M4 or M6 option size??? Maybe I'm a bit slow in the head blink.gif but that dosent compute...

Hi,
I had same reaction when I saw they are changing the port. I think they will
be making new housings with M6 port (d300 & d700...) but, did not see d200
with M6 port yet. One of my friend got d200 housing from factory last week & was
still M5 port.

and wish you a Good luck with new gear.

Best, Sam

Hej Peter,
To be sure, Sam modification is by far the most cost efficient D200 to D300 conversion. Alternatively, you could ask a Nexus dealer about a D200 to D300 conversion. I think it involves a new back and runs about $1,000 USD. OBTW, the "," denotes a thousand delimiter in the U.S.
Welcome to the black hole of underwater photography.
Regards,
Bob

Hi Bob

Thanks for the Welcome dance.gif to the black hole...

I'm really glad about all the helpful advise from all of you members in here notworthy.gif

There is not many diving fotografers in my part of the world and there is a wealt of super information in here. So excuse me if I ask stupid questions, but I'm on a very step learning curve.

By the way. I was told from by a dealer that a adapterring for the M-size issue, for the Nexus, is somewhat of a permanent thing that requres specilised tools to mount and desmount. I was hoping that it would be a quick ring fix kind of thing, but apperently not.

Is there really no local (Scandinavian/german/UK) seller or knowhow person in my part of the world?

Kind regards
Peter

The new Nexus port thread adapter ring can be removed /installed with a strap wrench. Sometimes I need a strap wrench to remove the port or extension ring anyway. The same tool will work. I use a wrench with nylon handle & 1.0" wide x .125" thick rubber strap. Very light weight for travel. You actually need 2 of the strap wrenches - one to restrain stationary ring & one to remove item. Since the port thread adapter uses a rather narrow o-ring its probably best to leave it in place as much as possible. Snug it up & don't let it move when installing or removing ports.
