Hello All,

I'm in Cabo San Lucas diving a couple of days before getting on the Nautilus Explorer to go to Socorro. The battery pack on my new strobe (Ikelite DS125) broke this evening. The plastic 'tooth/cog' in the center of the batter pack which mates to the main electronics half cracked off. Is there anyplace to pick up a new one in Cabo?

I'm diving tomorrow (without my camera) and Wednesday morning before getting on the Nautilus at about 4PM on Wednesday. It would really suck to come all this distance and have my brand new camera out of commission.

Thanks for any helpful information you have!
Greg

I can't help you with a place in Cabo for a strobe, I doubt there is one, but if I were you I'd be trying to find out who's on your trip, they might be flying to cabo tomorrow or wednesday, maybe they could bring you a spare. Perhaps the nautilus explorer land contact person has a roster.

Also try calling marine camera, h20 photo pros, or backscatter in the morning, maybe there is a way to ship a new strobe to cabo from california within 24 hours.

good luck!

Scott has some great ideas, I'd try H2O first (949) 642-2900 If none of those ideas work out I can highly recommend a bar called the Giggling Marlin. Order one the Grande Margaritas. Huge, you'll be lucky to find the boat much less worry about your strobe. tongue.gif
Sorry I'm not a lot of help but sometimes you just have to go with the flow, especially in Mexico.
Good Luck!

Scott & Steve,

Thank-you for the information and advice! I'm trying to contact people state-side. I think the best chance is it to get someone to bring an extra strobe with them.

Thanks,
Greg

If anyone's coming from Houston they can bring one of my battery packs. I sympathize with you because I had the exact same failure of one of my packs last year :-(

Cheers
James
