Backscatter has announced the release of the Wahoo HD monitor housing for the Sony CLM-V55 monitor. It offers a solution for videographers, housing the Sony monitor, which features 1152K pixels, to a maximum depth of 450 ft/137 meters. All controls on it are accessible, including focus peaking and is connected via a true HDMI connection and a custom hard-wired cable design.

The Sony CLM-V55 monitor can also be used topside use and there are currently versions of the housing for Nauticam and Aquatica housings available. Prices are still to be confirmed.

Press Release.

EYE CANDY.

The Wahoo HD offers visual inspiration for creative underwater video and photography. With over 1.1 mil- lion dots densely packed on a 5 inch screen, the Sony CLM-V55 monitor offers the sharpest image available in a compact monitor. Configured with HDMI connectors, it delivers unparalled image quality with 720 and 1080 signals. Finally, DSLR users can see critical focus and white balance color underwater.

FOCUS PEAKING.

Not sure if that pygmy seahorse is in focus? With a click you can activate Focus Peaking mode. The high resolution screen switches to black and white for maximum contrast. Sharp areas are highlighted in bold red outlines making it easier to follow focus when subjects are on the move.

450’ DEPTH RATING.

The rugged aluminum WahooHD housing is engineered for technical diving to 450 feet and features oversized control knobs for easy use with gloves. You might not dive that deep, but your monitor can.

RELIABLE CABLE DESIGN.

HDMI connections offer a true HD signal, but they require 19 wires. A plugable connector is just begging for trouble in a wet envoronment. Our rugged hard wired cable design delivers full HDMI digital connectivity with maximum reliability

  1. Is the monitor produced by Backscatter or is there a real company named Wahoo?
