FANTASEA #1684
November 2, 2007 - 2:38PM
Howard Rosenstein and his son, Nadav, took me on a tour of products at Fantasea's booth. Fantasea sells low-priced SLR and compact camera housings (mostly, Nikon compacts) and various accessories.
A new Nano universal accessory system includes a universal tray, arms, strobes, focus lights, fiber-optic sync cables, and more. The Nano set works with nearly every compact camera housing (even housings not manufactured by Fantasea) and is available in various configurations.
Howard also showed me a LED tank light that burns for 60 hours in 4 AAA batteries (!). 3 color inserts allow buddy pairs to choose a specific light color to avoid confusion with other divers in the water (a 4th color is coming).
Fantasea's low-priced SLR housings still include flood insurance for a full year -- a great bundle, in my opinion. Many prospective underwater photographers I've met are too afraid to take their SLRs underwater. Insurance solves that problem!
Be sure to check out Fantasea's website for product information and photos.
