I finally met Keri, Chris, and Any of ReefNet, which was great. Aside from being a nice family with cool products, ReefNet won the Wetpixel embedded picture of the week contest with their fantastic implementation of our embedded widget (on their hompage).
While wandering by the Seacam booth, I bumped into Mark Strickland, who whipped out his computer to show footage of a tiger shark taking away his camera at Tiger Beach. It turned out that the tiger shark in the video was Kimberly... and the real Kimberly (Ebersole) was actually on the DEMA show floor! I called Kimberly (the woman), who came over to see the video and to meet Mark.
On the floor, I randomly ran into Roberto Buiocchi (dive shop in Brazil), Nic de Gersigny (SEAL Expeditions), Mike Trussell (Kai Viti Divers), Gary and Brenda Adkinson, Jim Leicher (Jack's Diving Locker, Kona), Darren and Nina Rice, and others. There were certainly others, but these guys are the only ones of whom I ended up with photos.
On Friday night, Eli, Matt, Heidi and I went out for a quick dinner with Shawn Heinrichs, Kim McCoy (Sea Shepherd), Julie Andersen (Shark Savers), and Dianna Mercuri (SRI) to discuss potential future projects. Also below are photos from a dinner put together by Reef & Rainforest at a local Lebanese restaurant (complete with belly dancer and hookahs).
