Digideep.com, the largest online directory for underwater imaging, and sponsor of Wetpixel, invites all European underwater photographers for the first digital shootout held in Sweden. The Weather Islands in the Skaggerak Sea have their peek season during September with water temperatures ranging from 17 to 23 degree Celsius and more than 20 metres visibility. These optimal underwater photo conditions are topped with interesting sea creatures such as, giant lobsters, seals and amazing critters. With some luck you can even capture the almost extinct dogfish (an up to 1m sized shark) on camera. Many people are not aware that the Skaggerak hosts more different species than the Red Sea. Some specimen are unexpectly colourful.
DYK LEIF, located in the Swedish town named Hamburgsund, provides premium dive boats, excellent Thai-Food, buffets and lodging for the underwater photographer. Digital infrastructure and optional test equipment on site is provided by DIGIDEEP. Next to premium photo diving all contest participants can expect to win one of the attractive prices that sum up to a total amount of several thousand Euros, sponsored by GREEN FORCE dive lights, HUGYFOT underwater housings, DYK MAGAZINE and DIGIDEEP.
Every underwater photographer is recommended to bring a photo-buddy or friend for underwater modelling, pointing out photo subjects and general diving safety. Also participants are expected to bring their own complete dive gear. Reservations for rental equipment have to be made at least two weeks prior to the event. The smash-hit last minute all-inclusive price for this event is:
259 EUR for non-photographers (photo buddies)
299 EUR for photographers
