DAY 4: Digital Shootout Bonaire 2007 Daily Webcast
by Wetpixel's chief editor, Eric ChengWe dove some really lush reefs today (and yesterday), with nearly complete gorgonian and sponge coverage. After spending so much time in the south Pacific, it is rare for me to find a reef that I'm impressed with, especially in the Caribbean. But some of the reefs here in Bonaire (especially in the far north and far south) are really healthy and host a ton of marine life. I've really been enjoing the diving.
Submitted images from the participants are getting to be really good. A bit shout out to Capture Photo, the Divi Flamingo's underwater photo and video shop. Capture donated all of our printing supplies and volunteered to print all of the daily submissions we've been getting. Each year, we mount the week's prints on the wall of the classroom, and at the end of the shootout, participants get take their prints home!
Speaking of prints, Mark Liebman of Pictopia gave a talk this afternoon on how to order LightJet prints by using their web-based ordering system. I followed with a talk on digital workflow in the field, and at home (always a popular topic). Pictopia has set up an online gallery in which participants will eventally upload their images. There isn't much there at the moment, but stay tuned...
