The Loreo 3D "Lens in a cap" can be used to turn a standard or digital SLR camera into a 3D camera. It is a self-contained, integrated lens and reflector system that mounts directly onto the camera body, and uses the cameras exposure and focusing controls. There are versions available for cropped sensor and 4:3 format cameras. Loreo also have a range of 3D viewers including one for computer screens and do not recommend using the anaglyph technique.

All versions of the 3D Cap have a matched pair of focusing lenses, with a focusing range from one meter to infinity. They form a 3D effect by transposing two images.

The 3D Lens in a Cap has a focus coupled Parallax Compensation system. When the lens is focused on a subject at a given distance, the image pitch is automatically adjusted within the unit itself to suit the object distance. This works from 1.5m to infinity. Adjustment of the relative positions of the image pair are viewed in the viewfinder, or with Live View. Once a user learns how to use the lens, focusing can actually be achieved by parallax compensation alone. When the subject appears in the same relative position in both the left and right image in the viewfinder, it will automatically be in focus.
