DiveFilm High Definition Podcast Video presents HD Episode 6, Howard and Michele Hall’s “Ocean Requiem." Striking in its ability to transition seamlessly between beautiful scenes, it is a tribute to the ocean world and its creatures, and serves as a reminder of the vulnerability of marine life. The film is currently available for free at iTunes.
The first of several new web videos is now available at the DiveFilm website, “Clown Struck" by Leandro Blanco, a short story about the photographic subject you hate to love, the clownfish (and with a short cameo by Wetpixel’s own Eric Cheng). Both Hall’s and Blanco’s films touch on issues of conservation with powerful imagery of gillnets and discussion of destructive aquarium trade practices.
DiveFilm Podcast Video is produced in association with Wetpixel.com and are “Featured High Definition Podcasts” and “Featured TV & Film Podcasts” at iTunes.

Comment(s):Hi Guys, I’m not REALLY dumb; just plain stupid… Can you just play these ‘podcasts’, or do you have to download them and then play them?? Every time I try and have a look at one, it tries to down load 128mb files??

The High Def DiveFilm Podcasts are large files, and the Howard Hall “Ocean Requiem “ is 128 MB. It’s 960x540 and optimized to be watched on a computer monitor or on an HDTV with the new AppleTV device. You need to download the file first by clicking on the “Get Episode” button, then you can play the high def video on your computer.
The original DiveFilm Podcast Videos are smaller files that are optimized for iPods but can be watched on your computer, but are still optimized for quality playback. The most recent DiveFilm web video available directly from the DiveFilm website, Leandro Blanco’s “Clown Struck,” is a smaller file that will begin playing during the download process.
You’re certainly not dumb! Welcome to the new world of higher bandwidth video content--it can take some getting used to...and a higher-speed internet connnection. Hope you enjoy the podcasts after taking the time to download!
