Panasonic has released the DMC-GH1 DSLR with manual controls settings for HD movie capability and continuous recording, breaking 2 of the biggest criticisms of the new hybrid camera category. The GH1 captures HD in 1080/24p and 720/50/60p in 17mbps AVCHD Psf in 60i. On the stills front, the 4/3 mount camera has a 12.1 mp resolution with anti-dust sensor and face recognition AF. Priced at $1499, it is a feature packed camera that beats the competitors for HD video in DSLR, ViDSLR if you will. Best of all, it’s available in flashy red or bling gold!

Comment(s):This camera might lead to a new revolution in photo and video slr. According to the website I think it even features autofocus for video. Most necessary video functions seem to be well integrated. I am eagerly awaiting the video features of the upcoming Canon EOS 1DS Mark IV.
