Posted by solenostomus on 03/12 at 09:40 AMAs a logical complement to the online petition, we have also recently embarked on a mass e-mailing campaign directed at the CEO and public relations officers of Alibaba.com. We are aiming to use the power of our growing number of signatures to make this company immediately aware of the fact that a large (and increasing) number of people around the world are learning about their current irresponsible business practice and the impact that their actions are having on our world’s shark populations and marine ecosystems. We hope that the combination of these actions will prompt Alibaba.com to take immediate steps to correct this situation and remove shark fins from their product list, as Amazon.com did a few months ago.

There are multiple references to the practice of shark finning, and the impending collapse of the bluefin tuna fishery.
