Over on DivePhotoGuide (DPG), a report on and the results of the Picture Perfect Curacao (North American Underwater Photographer of the Year) competition have been posted. The basis of the contest was that a group of DPG monthly competition series winners, Allison Vitsky, Jeremy Kozman and Rand Mcmeins, were flown to Curacao, given $1000, put up at Lions Dive and Beach Resort and given diving by Ocean Encounters to compete not only between themselves but also against Keri Wilk, to see whose images would be used for Curacao Tourism's next ad campaign. Despite the "amateurs" achieving great results, with Alison winning three of the five categories, the overall winner was Keri. The contest was an interesting one, as the images were being judged for use in Curacao's upcoming advertising campaigns, rather than solely on artistic merit.
