The results of the Our World Underwater competition were announced live on stage at the Our World Underwater Show in Chicago over the weekend. The judges have had a very difficult task choosing the finalists from the over 1500 entries. Hearty congratulations to Jeff Hartog (Wetpixel member Loftus) on winning Best of Show with his stunning image Fire in the Water, and congratulations to all the other winners as well.
Full results and the winning videos are available on the UnderwaterCompetition.com site.
The winning video was 1932 Revisited by Edward Snijders.
The competition is possible only with the generous support of our sponsors. Many thanks to the companies below for providing the fantastic prizes were available for this year's contest.

Comment(s):I love it when I find a nudibranch floating in the water column with two emperor shrimp riding on it. And with shutter lag no less. Impressive shot.
(This is why I don’t bother entering more competitions.)

Posted by James Wiseman on 02/20 at 07:02 PMIn Chia Chi Chang’s defense, this type of lighting is easily attainable using a snoot. I don’t think this shot would even be possible had the Nudibranch been disturbed by holding it up or “in the water column”. This is a fantastic shot, especially from a compact, and it deserves recognition + congratulations without the sarcasm.
