The Houston Underwater Photographic Society (HUPS) will be hosting Wetpixel’s James Wiseman on March 2, 2009 for a presentation on underwater super macro techniques. Macro, or close-up, photography is defined up to 1:1, or life-size magnification, but the realm of super-macro is reached as you magnify beyond that. James’ talk will cover equipment choices (lenses, teleconverters, and diopters), techniques (focusing, finding the subject), and image processing considerations.
HUPS meets on the first Monday of every month at the Bayland Community Center in Houston, Texas. Visit the society’s website for more information about upcoming meetings and events…

Posted by stewsmith on 02/26 at 11:37 PMI’m with Stew,
If in fact a DVD/video could be recorded, I would certainly put my hand up to buy a copy.
Hey James, any chance that you could take this as a serious request and try and help out those of us who can’t be there?Posted by bruceterrill on 02/27 at 12:01 AMWould be nice to see the presentation. I’m ready to pay for the DVD!
Posted by Shaff on 02/27 at 03:36 AMI’ll record the presentation but I’m not volunteering to put any more time into it than that. If someone here in Houston wants to make a DVD that would be great. I’ve been working offshore a lot and would much rather spend time w/ my wife and baby than learn video editing ;-)
Cheers
