Rob Galbraith: CF Performance w/ the D70 ...
Rob Galbraith has updated his compact flash card performance database to include the new Nikon D70 digital SLR camera. I was shocked to see that when used with the fastest card in the test, the D70 records a RAW file at an amazing 4670K/sec! This is twice as fast as the older Nikon D100 and Canon 10D and almost three times as fast as the Canon Digital Rebel.

Commercial Dive Trips Forum
We've just created a new forum category called "Commercial Dive Trips" for commercial dive trip listings. In the past, we've been sensitive about non-Wetpixel trips being advertised in our forums, but now you have our blessing to be as blatantly commercial as you would like to be -- as long as you stay within the boundaries of the "Commercial Dive Trips" forum. :) Please read the ground rules in the forum category before proceeding.

INON Digital Converter Available Soon ...
We've just heard that the controversial INON Digital Converter will be available
soon in limited quantities through Wetpixel sponsor
Marine Camera Distributors. As far
as we know, the digital converter will not be marketed officially through INON
America due to a patent dispute, but will probably still be available unofficially
through shops that import from Japan.

Lee Peterson over at Wetpixel sponsor Marine Camera Distributors has sent us some exclusive photos of a prototype Nexus D70 housing. The D70 housing will have more controls on it than the D100 housing does, and they both are set up for external operation through 2 extra ports (i.e. possible remote trigger, external battery packs etc.). There is also a new handle with different hole patterns for strobe mounting, and a beautiful new 8mm thick glass multi-coated dome port that is just under 8" in diameter. Expected ship date for the new housing is mid-May. Contact Marine Camera Distributors for more information! (go to related link for photos of the housing, or discuss in forums)
