INON “Clear Photo System” Receives U.S. Patent

Inon “Clear Photo System” received U.S. Patent No. 6,704,500 on March 9, 2004.

“Clear Photo System” is a method of transmitting a flash signal from a digital camera’s internal strobe to an external strobe via a fiber optic cable. By attaching a piece of “Clear Photo Film” to the digital camera’s internal flash, the visible light portion of the strobe’s flash is cut, so only the non-visible light wavelengths, passing though the fiber optic, are used to trigger the external strobe’s flash. The benefits are elimination of backscatter and image ghosting from camera’s internal strobe flash.

Also, “Clear Photo Film” is now available separately, so users of other strobe systems can take advantage of Clear Photo System benefits. Previously, the film was only bundled with Inon fiber optic kits.

Mod Light and Video Housing from LMI ...

Light and Motion have released a new compact video housing called the Stingray III for the latest Sony MiniDV cameras HC20, HC30 and HC40. Nearly half the size of the original Stingray the new super compact Stingray III offers all of the same features of the full size model.

Other good news is that the popular Mod Light is back and improved. The Sunray Mod is powered by a rechargeable, memory free, high capacity, lithium ion battery. Burn times range from 50 minutes on the high setting to 90 minutes on low. Additionally, there is a conveniently located LED on the back of the light that informs the user of output levels, low battery warning and charging status.
