Canon’s blurb billed their Pro Photo Solutions as an unmissable event [in the UK] targeted specifically at professional photographers.

Designed by Canon to demonstrate the total workflow process from input through to output, the show will feature a number of specifically chosen partners. This event will not only offer advice from industry experts, hands on demonstrations, informative seminars and portfolio reviews,but will also provide professionals with techniques on how to maximise profit in the current climate....

Dive 2009 is an annual two-day show held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, UK and this year more than 320 exhibitors were due to show their products.

Of specific interest to underwater photographers are the stands operated by Cameras Underwater, Ocean Optics,Ocean Visions, Fantasea Line, the British Society of Underwater Photographers (BSOUP), Horvarth & Partner and The Underwater Channel. Seminars of interest to photographers will be Paul Duxfield's (from Cameras Underwater) and Seed Rashid's 'Digital Clinic', Maria Munn's (Ocean Visions) 'Fabulous Photography with your Compact Camera', Cameras Underwater's 'Simple Solutions for Stunning Results' and Mark Addison's talk 'High Definition Sharks'.

Team Wetpixel member Karen Doody (NCmermaid) has recently published a book of her images titled The Colors in Mexico’s Waters. This book of photos, accompanied by an engaging poetic text, is designed to inspire and delight the reader with the vibrant flora and fauna found both above and below the waters of Mexico’s Caribbean coast. From the tinest of fish faces to the granduer of the Mayan cenote system, the 8-1/2 x 11” hardback book features some of her favorite diving images.

Our friends over at Underwater Photography Magazine have released issue #51, which is available immediately for free download. This issue includes previews and news about nearly two dozen new products for underwater photographers, as well as articles on technique by Alex Mustard, Simon Brown, and more.
