DEMA ART INNOVATION CENTER
November 1, 2007 - 11:46AM

The Art Innovation Center at DEMA was full of works by Wyland, and when I arrived, Wyland was accompanied by a mermaid and was receiving some sort of trophy checking out the Wyland Icon Award trophies with Greg Holt of ScubaRadio. Wyland was also doing some live paintings at the show, and the rows behind were full of artwork and photographs.

A large sign above the center showed portraits of the recipients of the Wyland Icon Award: David Doubilet, Zale Perry, and Rodney Fox. The rows of artwork behind Wyland's live art display featured works by Stephen Frink, Michael Aw, Guy Harvey, Todd Essick, Bob Talbot, Richard Ellis, David Doubilet, Jim Watt, Eric Hanauer, Rogest, Pascal Lecocq, Ernie Brooks, Annie Crawley, Doug Perrine, and others.

  1. Wyland was not actually accepting an award, he was looking at the trophy the Scubaradio crew won the night before at a DEMA party.  Actually, Wyland had just presented Rodney Fox the ICON award.
