Florida dive show was a complete success. I spoke to many of the exhibitors, and all were pleased with the turnout for a first show—and with the new Palm Beach County Convention Center as the venue. For the photography crowd, speakers like Cathy Church, Mauricio Handler and Paul Humann were well worth the price of admission. The latest and greatest U/W photography gear, both still and video, were also on display.

Several Wetpixel members were in attendance including Dave Haas, Laz Ruda, Ryan Canon and more. I’ll leave the “whats new in equipment posts” to others who may have attended. As a board member for South Florida Underwater Photography Society, our booth, which promoted U/W photography and video in the south Florida area, was well received.

Plans for next years show have already begun, and will likely include an international U/W photo competition. The biggest drawback to this year’s show was that the weather was so outstanding that visitors to the area might have rather been diving.  If you attend next year’s Florida Dive Show, please allow some extra time in the area for some of the country’s best diving!
