Congratulations to Wetpixel administrator Dr. Alex Mustard for his 3rd place win in the Seahorses of the World Photo Competition.  Alex’s photograph of a freeswimming Hippocampus bargibanti taken in the Lembeh Strait took a third place spot.  Congratulations are also in order for Wetpixel member David Harasti who also won a third place for his photograph of a Hippocampus breviceps called the “Punk Seahorse.” Stweart Sy aka Scubastu also received an honorable mention in the competition.

  1. Hmm, I guess I’m not a wetpixel anymore for just getting an honorable mention? ;-)

  2. Ya see, thats what happens when you use a screen name...no recognition...!

I will let James know and he can hopefully change it.

  3. Alex should have won… because of the eye contact with the pygmy. Thats sooooo difficult with seahorses.

  4. Thanks. I only entered because you got a free box of chocolates. Which were very nice. Alex

  5. Congrat’s to “jason isley” for his fine work..  makes proud to see one of my first employees becomes successful and acclaimed by his peers in his own right.

  6. You got the chocolates already?  I was just notified yesterday.  Gee, thousands of bucks worth of equipment, travel and time to take some pics and all I get is a stinking shirt and candy! ;-) Congrats Alex and David.

I have a feeling that they were inundated with pygmy pics and less on other species...I sent in 3 images, 2 pgymies and the other one that got the mention. Photographically, the pygmies were far better than the one that got the mention.
