Tomorrow is the last day to voice your support of Mexico legislation NOM-064, ”intended to ban destructive fishing gear and techniques” used in commercial fishing in the Sea of Cortez. Over the last few years, the reef life in the area has significantly declined as a result of “pistoleros” (night divers with spear guns) and individuals on hookah equipment that drive the remaining fish into monofilament nets.

Sea Watch has issued a call to action to contact Mexican government and civic officials to encourage the implementation of NOM-064. Please show your support - sending an email takes less than a minute and requires only your name and e-mail address (if you wish to include either).
