Dear underwater photo/video companies:

This year, products that you want to be covered by our Wetpixel DEMA report will require online submission. If you do not submit your products, they will not be covered in Wetpixel's DEMA 2009 coverage.

Summary / actions required:

1. Submit your products for Wetpixel reporting on DEMA 2009
2. Get on the industry mailing list to get future calls for submission

WETPIXEL COVERAGE HISTORY

Wetpixel has been covering underwater media products at DEMA since the year 2000. Each year, we have sent a small team of reporters to cover the DEMA show floor. Here is a link to our 2008 coverage:

http://wetpixel.com/i.php/full/dema-2008-show-coverage/

During the first few years, we wandered around -- carefree -- because there were almost literally no digital photography products being announced. But last year, a team of three reporters were forced to buzz around the floor non-stop during the day, retiring to hotel rooms to write articles at night; I think we averaged around 2-3 hours of sleep per night, and by the end of the show, most people greeted me on the floor with a hearty, "WHOAH -- what happened to you?!"

Anyway, the point of this post:
Products that you want to be covered by our Wetpixel DEMA report will require online submission.

Early submission will give our staff time to prepare reporting before DEMA so we can be timely and thorough about posting information about your company and your products.

CONFIDENTIALITY

All products submitted through this form will remain confidential under a media block until November 4, 2009.

HOW TO SUBMIT

Go to our DEMA product coverage submission form at http://wetpixel.com/i.php/demasubmit

  1. Fill out the form and submit it once for each product you are featuring or announcing at DEMA. Remember that this particular report will be DEMA-specific, and isn't just a place to feature all of your products. We recommend 1-2 featured products, plus ALL new products.

  2. When you're done submitting all of your products, zip/compress all of the images you'd like us to present into one file and send them to us at http://wetpixel.com/dropbox . Be sure to leave a comment in the notes field so we know what company the images belong to.

These directions are reproduced on the webpage.

DEADLINE

The deadline for submission to be included in DEMA 2009 coverage is October 16, 2009.

LIVE SHOW COVERAGE

The Wetpixel crew will still be on the DEMA show floor for live coverage. If you would like us to meet you at your booth, please get in touch with Michaela Brockstedt at / +1-415-449-1456 to schedule an appointment.

INDUSTRY MAILING LIST

In the future, calls for product announcements for dive shows will be issued via our industry mailing list. To subscribe, please visit our mailing list page. Each year, we'll try to remember everyone we emailed in the past to make sure you are notified about product information requests, but the mailing list will be the only way to be sure you'll get these announcements.

Mailing list page URL: http://wetpixel.com/i.php/mailinglist-industry/

If you have any questions, please feel free to reply to this email.

Thank you -- and see you at DEMA!

  1. Man, I got all excited thinking you were putting out the call for people to come help cover the show. :-)

  3. Maybe you could also ask wetpixellers what they would like to be reviewed. In my case I have always been really interested in the Inon endoscope lens (or any UWendoscope lens like one there is in Japan for which is very difficult to find info) that is taking a lot of time to be released (if it ever makes it...).

  4. Just looked - it’s in Orlando not Vegas this year...week before I’m slated to have in-laws in town to help with our bathroom remodel (wife’s dad is a plumber)...and I’ve got an airplane voucher I’ve been trying to figure out how to use.  Hmmmm...aside from the chance I’d get caned by the wife for even considering it, HECK YES I’d like to come.  Not that I have any “credentials” aside from suitably stupid noob mindset for reviewing entry-level stuff. But I type like a speed demon. ;-D
