Imagery captured of world’s deepest fish
The Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) has captured footage and images of Mariana snailfish at a depth of 8,178 m (26,800 Ft) in the Mariana Trench. The imagery was captured in 4K by a compact halal-lander and the fish were baited using mackerel. The first image of the fish was captured at this depth after 17 hours and 37 minutes.
