  1. Hey all I have the Olympus EPL10 inside the AOI housing. I am using the Panasonic 8mm fisheye behind the AOI DLP-06 (Acrylic Dome Port) and the Olympus 60mm macro behind the AOI FLP-06 (flat port) and AOI 34mm Extension Ring. I am wondering what would change when of trying out the AOI DLP-04P (Acrylic Semi-Dome Port) for the 60mm macro? Does the semi-dome offer a slightly wider field of view? Does anyone have an image comparison between a flat port and a semi-dome port they could share?
  2. Hello all, As the title suggests I am looking for an example of a photo competition submission form. My club has asked me to help put together a photo competition. Any ideas would be great. I am also thinking of using the following categories; if you can think of other categories please feel free to add to the list.: Beginner: ~Macro/Close Up ~Wide Angle Action Cam: ~Macro/Close Up ~Wide Angle "Standard Camera": ~Macro/Close Up ~Wide Angle
  3. I also have the E-PL10 in the Backscatter AOI housing. I'm using the Oly 60mm for macro and the Pana 8mm for Wide-angle. I was able to buy the Pana 8mm and dome port for less than the Oly 8mm. Honestly I've only dove with the 60mm once, I'm not too sure if I had different expectations of the lens but I didn't like it. I've dove with the 8mm maybe 8-10 times, I much prefer it. The main thing to remember is the AOI housing is a PEN style camera (EPL10) and the port opening is much smaller diameter than the OMD style cameras(Em10, em5, em1) so you can use a lot of the Oly Pro lenses on the EPL10. This has tripped me up a few times when buying new lenses. Now I have the EM1-3 for photography above water and the EPL10 for photography below water.
  4. Awesome video. I really enjoyed the music.
  5. Tim, Do you by chance know what the length of the plug is (see photo below)? I have the AOI Tentacle housing (for the Oly EPL10) and when using the dome port for the Pana 8mm fisheye I have a hard time connecting the fiber cables. Most times I have to remove the Vacuum and port to install the fiber plug when I forget to install the plug before pulling vacuum.

  8. I have tried the 2 local dive shops near me. I have also reached out to Underwater Spotter on FB and Instagram but they appear to be unresponsive as they have yet to get back to me. Also, their webpage is dead.
  9. @Brian MacPhail Do you have any details of your diving activities from CR? My wife has been hinting that she wants to go to CR when we are able to spend some away from our baby. It would be great for me to be able to get in some diving while there as well.
  10. If you go with the ULCS system they will also include an "Oh $hit Leash" for your light in case it does fall off.
  11. Hey there, are you still looking to sell this lens? Could you send me a message either way?
  12. I quit using Lightroom when they changed to the subscription model, I settled on On1 Photo Raw and I am completely happy with it. The only thing I miss about Lightroom is the ability to use LRTimelapse for timelapse videos.
  13. Ive been using the Olympus EPL10 inside an AOI housing since the beginning of 2021. The EPL10 is an awesome step into interchangeable lens cameras it utilizes the micro4/3s sensor which gives the compactness of a point and shoot camera but the ability to change lenses like a big ole DSLR. The housing also allows the user to change ports based on the lenses you are using. I currently have mine set up like a DSLR; I use a 8mm fisheye lens and the 60mm macro and associated ports. The standard port has a m67 thread on it so it can accept a wet lens. I have added the Backscatter MF1 strobe (I have 2x strobes but I have only used 1 strobe so far). At the time of purchase the camera and housing could be bought for $1,200USD which is a heck of a deal. I might look into adding a a Backscatter Macro Wide 4300 macro video light. I look forward to MANY years of UW Photography with this camera rig.
  14. @underwaternoir Check your inbox I just sent you a PM.
  15. I have a A7iii and a few lenses that I am trying to get rid of. I can make a deal on it if you take the whole kit :-). Shoot me a PM to talk about more info.
  16. Hey there, What is the price for just the lens? I don't have a Nauticam housing so the focus gear wont work for me. Also sent you a PM.
  17. Yes, I have come across this result as well. Unfortunately the book that Blueholic Scuba has available is the "basic" book, I am looking to track down the "advanced" book.
  18. Hello All, Im based in California, USA and I am having trouble sourcing the book in the title "California Advanced Ocean Life Guide " by Underwater Spotter. If anyone has any leads on this book would you please let me know.
  19. I agree with Barmaglot, the Son RX100Va would be a great step up, If you want an interchangeable lens camera that is a step up I would recommend the Olympus EPL-9 or -10. You can use the 14-45mm kit lens with wet lenses and then when you decide to step into a dedicated macro or wide angle lens you can get the specific lens and port. Take a look at the backscatter website for the Olympus EPL10. I've upgraded from the Sony RX100Va (available for sale with housing) to the Olympus EPL10. Feel free to PM me any questions you have about either the RX100Va or the EPL10.
  20. I have a second strobe but I'm still learning how to use one and understand exposing for a flash. I don't use flash on my topside photography either so the learning is going slow.
  21. Good point but lately my water temps have been about 55°F (about 12°C) so I havent been wearing gloves when photographing.
  22. I guess Ill have to go back out to dive and practice, what a chore ;-).
  23. I'm wondering if anyone here could provide me with direction for an inexpensive entry into fluorescent photography. I recently moved and I found a Kraken Hydra 5000 WSR+, it does have a blue/UV setting, will this work? I am thinking I will use this light on one side and my Backscatter MF1 on the other side of my Olympus EPL10 with the 14-42 EZ lens so that I can use a flat port and a screw on yellow filter. Any thoughts on why this setup should not work?
