  1. I do believe the image stabilization on the GoPro8 has been improved and so has the automatic white balance. Is it enough to warrant buying a new camera - probably not. And yes you will need a new housing but the price is pretty reasonable about $50. Here is an example of the GoPro 8 that I shot here in San Diego California.
  2. I would highly recommend a GoPro 8 with a tray and one or two video lights. I use two Light & Motion lights affordable and effective. Keeping it simple and affortable. You will still need to learn video editing YouTube has lots of tutorials depending on what program you choose. Here is a video I put together using mostly the GoPro7 but some GoPro8 as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTDQ6XtWeiE Hope this helps
  3. Another cool dive destination, I just watched your Maldives video. Again nice work and you do a great job getting lots of cool critters. A pleasure to watch.
  4. Well you definitely captured quite a few marine creatures. Well done, I enjoyed watching - looks like an incredible place to dive!
  5. Beautiful work Tim! My wife and I were in the Red Sea this past November. Amazing diving off the Aggressor II and all the cool shipwrecks ... oh my!!! Nice shots.
  6. What an interesting creature. Great work on the footage. Thanks for sharing.
  7. I think the "Barrel finder" found a nice little, no I take that back a nice - Big barrel. I'm a life long surfer as well as a diver so I can really appreciate your shot. Well done, it seems a bit more painterly rather than super sharp action shot due to the post processing I would assume but I like that! Good job where was that?
  8. Solid piece of work. Nice footage and editing - interesting as well.
  9. How cool was that! Very impressive Brian, good work .
  10. Super interesting terrain and marine life. Very well done indeed!
  11. Wow very cool, I need to come to Florida and dive some of those wrecks !!
  12. I'm a new member to the site and would love to hear feedback for my most recent video. Looking for both positive and negative critiques. Always looking to learn and improve. Video was shot with a GoPro 7 or 8 and two light and Motion video lights on a tray with TLC arms. Some of the high lights are blown out I need to find out if I can do a minus exposure compensation on the GoPro. Thanks for looking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTDQ6XtWeiE&t=2s
  13. Hello Wetpixel Community, My real name is Peter, but I'll go by Pistola55 as my profile name and yes - there is a story behind the name "pistola" but we'll leave that for another time ; ) I live in San Diego, California and I've been a certified diver since 1983. I was certified while serving in the military in Okinawa, Japan. I bought my first u/w camera soon thereafter, it was a Nikonos IV which then became a Nikonos V and you know how the story goes from there. Housed SLRs where in the inevitable future and then when digital hit (think Nikon D100) it was like being hit by a ton of bricks. I have had some photos published and won some local competitions but was never anywhere near a professional. Just a passionate amateur. Long story short.. I'm still a very active diver here in San Diego (and yes - I dive in a drysuit) and travel as much as possible. Now a days my camera of choice is a simple yet amazing little GoPro8 with a tray and TLC arms and two Light & Motion video lights. I really enjoy shooting and editing video creating a story. Thank you for reading this far and I'm looking forward to learning and experiencing anything new. Peter
