Did you end up having to cover the holes when not using the laser pointer?

Wee yellow things on wee black stuff.

This is one shot of several favorites; this from a lack-lustre trip to Ambon, where conditions were less than desirable. I have never seen this spectacularly coloured gorgonian before, and the contrast with the crab really appealed to me. Cheers, Marli

Mike Bartick has a photo of one in Alert Diver this month. Thought is that it could be a juvie Wonderpus. Cheers, Marli

Looks like a wrasse....not that it narrows the search down much. Where was it taken?

I found the same fish as in #1 in Anilao, and Gerry Allen says that it is also a Dwarf Velvetfish, Acanthosphex leurynnis. Apparently their colour varies substantially. Cheers, Marli

I think that this may be an isopod, rather than a shrimp.

Canon WP-DC34 housing O ring replacement
scubamarli replied to jmknights's topic in Photography Gear and Technique
For $15, I would buy the replacement one that you know will fit properly. Why would you take a chance for a few bucks? The density is just as important as the diameter. The yellow orings are much softer than a black rubber one. http://www.backscatter.com/sku/cn-cy4-4517-000.lasso Cheers, Marli -

Nikon 105mm f2.8D and focus gear for Aquatica
scubamarli replied to scubamarli's topic in Classifieds
Lens has sold. Gear is still available. -
Camera closet cleaning time. I have had this lens sitting around for a few years. It is a hacked 28-80 Sigma lens: in other words, it has been modified to shoot macro full time. It works perfectly with the Aquatica focus gear for the Nikon 60mm f2.8D ( #18728) used as a zoom gear in the regular macro port with focus knob: no extension is needed. It is very lightweight, and works really well for those times that you have no idea what you are going to find. I have used it, and the optics are not bad. If you have an Aquatica housing for Nikon, and want a cheap way to get into macro, let me know. $50 US + shipping. You will of course have to get a gear, unless you want to zoom it to a particular position and just go for it. It will not auto-focus on entry level cameras, so check your manual, or PM me and I can let you know if it will autofocus on your particular camera. Cheers, Marli

I have a pair of blue ones in Regular. I'm willing to let them go cheap, but shipping is always an issue from Canada.

Having trouble collecting on a claim with DEPP?
scubamarli replied to Chuck Tribolet's topic in The Galley: General Chat
Well, it is long overdue. I am so fortunate as to not have had a claim in the many years that I used these losers. I hope that they are made to pay up. Cheers, Marli -

As LR 5 is out, it will solve your issue. It is much more responsive than LR4 IMO, and the new spot healing function is excellent. Your other option, which is free, is to download the DNG converter 8.1 from Adobe. Convert your files, and then import them into your current version of Lightroom. You won't get to use the camera profiles, however. Cheers, Marli
