  1. Hey all, we have only 3 spots open on the Anggun out of Phuket. I was just on this boat last Dec and it had the best service of any I've been on in 20 years. The diving will be our own itinerary spent mostly in Burma waters because the diving is just better there. This trip is scheduled from Dec. 19-28th. San Diego UnderSea Film Exhibition Dear Underwater FilmMaker, We are very pleased to announce the 5th Annual San Diego UnderSea Film Exhibition scheduled for Friday and Saturday evening, October 1 & 2, 2004 at the state-of-the-art, large-format theater at the San Diego Natural History Museum in Balboa Park. Last year's Film Exhibition at the Oceans 2003 conference / Scripps Centennial, was an overwhelming success and we hope this year's will be even better. Each evening’s program will consist of 14 to 16 short films, submitted by both accomplished professional and aspiring amateur underwater filmmakers and videographers. To enter a film, edit a presentation of five minutes or less of your best underwater footage, and submit it to us, so that it is RECEIVED no later than July 1, 2004. Submissions are limited to three films/videos per filmmaker. Films should have a soundtrack that complements the visual footage and may include narration, Filmmakers are also encouraged to introduce their No film can be longer than five minutes and at least 50% of the footage must be underwater. Please ensure that no part of your film infringes upon any rights, whether music, visual footage, personal, copyright, or any other legal right. We are accepting only mini-DV NTSC tapes . Please submit a master copy, as these will be the show tapes. Please leave a 10-15 sec. blank leader at the beginning of your submissions. More than one film may be entered on a tape. If you have questions regarding the submission, feel free to contact us. To have tapes returned after the Film Exhibition, please include a proper sized, self-addressed, stamped envelope with proper postage. The San Diego UnderSea Film Exhibition is not responsible for lost or damaged tapes. Film selection will be made by the 1st of August by our judges, who are renowned in the fields of visual arts and media. No entrant will be allowed to participate in the actual judging of the films/videos submitted for consideration. If you have three films entered and chosen by our judges, only two shows will be used in the film exhibition. The San Diego UnderSea Film Exhibition reserves the right to use the films for the promotion of this event. All rights will remain with the owners of the films.   5. It has been suggested that I introduce myself to the members of this site. My name is Steve Douglas and I live in San Diego. I serve as one of the 5 core organizers of the San Diego UnderSea Film Festival, have been a dive shop owner and instructor and member of the Sheriffs Search and Recovery Dive Unit. The dive team and shop are in the past. I also write editing software reviews for the www.kenstone.net editing site for Final Cut Pro as well as other editing sites. Two or three times a year my friends and I go on international dive trips of which I posted in the travel section on this site. Hey folks, My friend and I have put together 2 trips to Thailand Dec. 19-28,2004 on board the Angyun where we have arranged for a customized itinerary to do most of the diving in Burma waters and also a trip back to the Cocos Islands, July 2-11, 2005 aboard the Okeanos Aggressor. I have been on the Angyun before and it has the best service of any liveaboard I have ever been on and this will be my 7th trip on the greatly improved and remodeled Aggressor.
