  8. Caption: Beauty in the beast. Location: Guadalupe Island Gear: Canon 400D, EF-S 18-55mm, Ikelite Housing, 2 Inon z220 strobes Description: We attracted the sharks by wrangling fish carcases on the surface. The great whites would come right up to the surface to try grab a bite of the dead fish. Caption: Smile Location: Guadalupe Island Gear: Canon 400D, EF-S 18-55mm, Ikelite Housing, 2 Inon z220 strobes Description: This comical looking great white shark was looking into the cages that we were standing in. Not sure what he was thinking of. Caption: A great white natural montage. 9. Very nice shots!! Thanks for showing them.
  10. Thanks for the comments. From what I have been hearing, i believe we were quite lucky on the trip. Good viz, very sunny, pilot whales, dolphins, lots of beer, lots of sharks (18 to 20), fun people and non stop action in the cages!! Cheers Derek
  11. Well I'm just back from Guadalupe island with Patric from sharkdiver.com There were about 10 + different white sharks there over the 3 days we were there. Good opportunity's as the vis was great the first 2 days. Hell of a travel from Ireland though Just wanted to post couple of pics for you guys to view, of course comments too are welcome ;-) Oh..I used my Canon 400D and the standard kit lens EF-S 18-55mm. I brought my ef-s 10-22mm but was happy using the 18-55 so didn't bother changing it...Also didn't want 10mm funky images coming out Cheers Derek
  12. ************************SOLD********************** FOR SALE Ewa-marine U-AX I used this housing “Once!†It cost me €250 from camerasunderwater. I am willing to sell this for €140 or best offer...Postage will be €20 worldwide. If you happen to be wanting this type housing, rather than buy a new one from a shop; buy this one....its the exact same condition. I have it about 6 months. I couldn't think of anything good to say about the ewa marine “housing†I bought, so here is a blurb from their own website: Quote: ewa-marine photo housings are suitable for nearly all types of compact - and SLR cameras, often also with winder, zoom lens , flash gun and autofocus lens. These housings are very robust, despite their light weight of approximately 500 gr., to offer a long and dependable service life. The ewa-marine camera housing will not only enable you to take impressive underwater shots at depth of 10, 20 or even 50 metres (depending on the type of housing) but also allow you to take your camera into the most hostile environment (humidity, seawater, spray, sand, dust) without having to fear for the safety of your camera and lens. The special sheeting used for the housings is moulded and welded by elaborate process. They are fitted with a front port made of neutral, high quality optical glass. These and a number of other features (depending on the model) will help you shoot pictures that will be the envy of your friends. To be fair to the housing, I was able to try out my ttl speedlite in the housing, which was interesting enough. The results were impressive for a first tryout. Reason I didn't like it is because I couldn't maneuver the camera underwater as the housing compressed too much against the camera. This made it hard to adjust functions on the camera. I dive in cold water conditions that don't allow for flapping about with this type of setup! Good enough, just not for me!! If all else fails ill stick it on ebay sometime. Thanks Derek
  13. Ikelite 300D (digital rebel) housing for sale: The housing has been used well and looked after well. It has a few scratches on it, but nothing to make any functional difference. This housing is one without the ikelite ttl function on the back (only useful if used with ikelite strobes anyway) I will also include the standard lens port!! (standard 18-55mm lens uses port #5503 - http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/2port_canon.html). Complete price, which I will include post and packaging cost is €800 ILL ADD THE CAMERA (300D) FOR AN EXTRA €300 Indeed - reasonable offers will be considered. Thanks Derek

  17. I quite like this one. 10-22mm @ 13mm 1/200 sec, f/5.6 This tiger shark was right up to the lens...... For people on the Jasa shark trips...You can guess where this was taken ;-) Cheers Derek Heasley

  20. hi, Does anyone know off-hand the model number of ikelite dual sync cord going from Ikelite 300d(digital rebel) to 2 Inon z220 strobes? Recommendations on purchasing one online ? Any help appreciated Cheers Tank
  21. Oh yes as the news just comes out that canon are "upgrading" their 300D to the 350D I have to say it seems quite excellent. I know this post is probably too early but does anyone know if we can use our existing 300D housings with the new 350D camera ? In particular Ikelite Looking at pictures of the 350d it looks very "similar" dimensions. Buttons not so extruded though on 350d. Thanks Tank
  22. B+H Photo is very good service online. Shipping is spot on...Although I had a delay with one or two orders, generally they are very quick. Normally shipped next day. I tend now to select a courier service rather than USPS. Cheerz Tank
  23. I have an ikelite housing for the canon 300d. I somehow lost one (on my last dive trip) of the black cups that fit over the steel buttons on the inside of the housing. The black part that actually touches the buttons of the camera. Tiny little buggers, but one fell off Just wondering is there a Ikelite part number for these ? or should i just bring another one to my local hardware store to see if they have anything similar ? Would hate to pay 20 euro or something like that for shipping of it Hope you understand which part i mean. Cheerz Tank
