Rebreather divers will be welcome and accomodated. I have led 2 previous trips there over the past 10 years. If interested, email me at: Doriadiver11@aol.com. Toys that will be available for rent will include Dive-Xtras Scooters, Digital Still Cameras, and HD Underwater video cameras. Dive Bikini-Kwajalein- Brochure-2013.pdf -
For Sale: A very lightly used Gates Underwater Video housing for either the Sony Z1U, or FX1 HD camera, and Fathom Superwide Port. The Z1U Camera (not included) is switchable between either NTSC or PAL format; so it is suited ideally for the International market. Included with the housing: for sale is a Fathom Imaging SWP44 Super Wide Angle Port. The glass is perfect with no marks, scratches, chips, or other blemishes. The aluminum sunshade is scratched a bit, but the optics is perfect. Also included is an external color monitor NOTE: (the included Gates monitor did not come originally with this particular housing; so the housing will need the wet-connector for the monitor to be installed. There is already a plug-port machined in the housing for that purpose, and the wet-connector can be purchased directly from Gates for less than $150, or Gates can install it if you ship the housing back to them). Housing plus Port sold new for over $11K. The color monitor cost over $1000. Complete Housing, Superwide Port, and Monitor For sale here for $3,500. Email me at: Doriadiver11@aol.com

For Sale; is for a Gates - Fathom Imaging SWP44C Super Wide Angle Port. If you are looking at this, you already know what it is. This port is made explicitly for the following Gates Housings: Sony EX1; Sony EX1R; and Panasonic HVX200A High Definition Broadcast Underwater Video Systems. This Port was never used, and has never been underwater. I bought it from Gates at a discount because it has a slight ding / blemish to the sun-shade. The blemish is so small it doesn't seem to appear in the pictures, but it is obvious to the naked eye. In any case, the ding does not effect the optical quality of this incredible lens. This lens sells new retail for $5300. I bought this intending to buy an EX1R system; but my plans have changed; so this is now for sale here. It is sold as-is, as-described, and as-pictured. Asking Price does not include shipping/insurance. Asking Price: $3750 Email with questions or to purchase: Doriadiver11@aol.com Manufacturer's Description follows: The Gates SWp44c Fathom Imaging Wide Angle Port is designed for use with the Gates EX1, EX1R and HVX 200a underwater Housings. Made of 9 elements of glass, with corner to corner sharpness, the Gates SWP44c allows full zoom through capability and up to 120 degrees Field of View. Gates Super Wide Ports are exceptional designs because they provide both super wide field of view (up to 120 degrees) and full zoom through capability for ~1.5in / 38mm macro. A single Hi Performance port now supports a vast range of shooting situations with no loss of clarity or sharpness through the entire camera zoom range. A member of the Gates family of premium ports, these underwater optics are analyzed and tested for compatibility with HD cameras to ensure no degradation of image quality. To achieve this performance first requires a design by Fathom Imaging that includes several (up to 6) optical-grade glass elements. They are protected with an anti-reflective (AR) coating, then nitrogen purged / vacuum sealed into an aluminum shell. While the front dome element has a hard AR coating and protected by a shade, it is not field replaceable. Care must be exercised to avoid contact with sharp objects (like coral). Super Wide Ports are a must when this type of flexibility is required with no loss of optical quality. Working professionals and experienced videographers are most likely to utilize the full potential of these ports. 9 Glass Element construction 120 Degree FOV Full Zoom Through Capability Distortion Free- Edge to Edge Corner sharpness Reflection Free Vignetting Free Anti-reflective coating Nitrogen Purged/vacuum sealed optics Retail Price: $5299

GATES HVX200 Housing plus Panasonic HVX200A camera
FGrieger replied to Philgreen's topic in Classifieds
Now I'm really confused. The SWP44-C: Goes with the HVX200 A camera and housing..... not the straight HVX 200. The Super-Wide Port you have, should be the SWP44; NOT the SWP44C. Can you please confirm exactly, the equipment you have for sale. There are significant differences between the 200; and the 200A models, and it's unclear which system you have for sale. Thanks -
GATES HVX200 Housing plus Panasonic HVX200A camera
FGrieger replied to Philgreen's topic in Classifieds
Hello Your ad says it's a Gates HVX200 Housing, but an HVX200A camera. Can you please clarify this, becuase the HVX200A model camera; does not fit with the HVX200 housing......it only fits the Gates HVX200A housing (the front bulkheads are different dimensions). Also, could you clarify which Superwide Port this is: Is it the SWP44, or the SWP44C ? Thank You. -
See this ebay auction for Live Aboard Photo Safaris to Kwajalein Atoll and Bikini Atoll. The link to the ebay auction follows; or if the link doesn't work; search for item number 320821067633 http://www.ebay.com/itm/320821067633?ssPag...984.m1558.l2649 Dive Bikini / Kwajalein Atoll – The itinerary: Arrive Kwajalein Atoll and board our vessel “Indies Trader”. At Kwajalein, we will dive several WW-II wrecks which may include: “Prinz Eugen”, “Tateyama Maru”, “Ikuta Maru”, “Eiko Maru”, and several downed aircraft. “Indies Trader” will then put to sea and steam 240 Nautical Miles North to Bikini Atoll (an approximate 28 hour run). for 8+ days’ diving at Bikini Atoll, on wrecks inlcuding: Aircraft Carrier Saratoga, HIJMS Nagato (Battleship of “Tora Tora Tora fame”), USS Carlise (Destroyer), USS Arkansas (Battleship) USS Anderson (Destroyer), USS Pilotfish (Submarine), USS Apogon (Submarine), and others. We will conduct 3 to 4 dives at Kwajalein, followed by 16 dives at Bikini Atoll, returning to Kwajalaein for the return flight home. Divers will have to organize their own airline flights into and out of Kwajalein on Continental Airlines. Equipment provided will consist of double steel tanks with isolator manifold, and weights. Rebreather divers are welcome; but must pay a nominal additional fee for absorbent. Digital Still Cameras and Underwater Video Cameras may be avaialble for rental. The Diving: The average visibilty at Bikini Atoll usually exceeds 100 ft. All dives are “deep air” decompression dives, with maximum depths up to 180 feet (helium can be made available, but at an extra cost to the diver requiring it). For safety and contingencies, there will be a recompression chamber and two certified chamber operators aboard the vessel. NO ALCOLHOLIC BEVERAGES are permitted during diving operations. Only after the last diver, has exited the water from the last dive on the last day; will the bar open. Bikini Atoll is an extremely remote, and uninhabited island. There can be no air-evacuation possible. Appropriate conservatism, procedures, contingencies, and precautions will therefore be exercised at all times. Dives will be guided by highly experienced Bikinian Divemasters each with thousands of dives on these wrecks. Contact the Organizer: for more details.
