  1. I agree with you concerning the microdrives Jimbo. I recently purchased a 1GB Ridata 52x ($250) and a 20GB X's-Drive II ($200). This let's me take up to 136 RAW photos at a time then download them to the XS-drive at the end of the day. I got my gear at MyDigitalDiscount.com. http://www.mydigitaldiscount.com/ Hope this helps...
  2. Hi Alex, Thanks for the info. I don't plan on going below 10m on this trip.
  3. Yeah the $35 for the 4x5 card and $52 for the 8x10 is pretty high . I guess they figure it's a supply and demand thing. I haven't seen another product like it. I'm going to try a white card on my upcoming trip to Grand Cayman/Cozumel. I went to a modeling store and got a 2-pack of 7"x12", .125" thick sheets of matte white plastic sheets (it only came in packs of 2) for $7. I cut one down to 4x6 to fit in a pocket. The manufacturer also makes plastic sheets in grey, but I don't know if it's 18% or if it even matters.
  4. Thanks James. I've seen the article and found it to be instrumental in getting geared-up for my upcoming trip. I was wondering if anyone else has had the opportunity to try their hand at using the technique.
  5. Did anyone use this technique and post the resulting photos? I'm going on a trip to Grand Cayman and Cozumel and will be trying this out for myself, but would love to see how it worked out for one of you experenced people and hear any problems/suggestions.
  6. For those of you who are looking for a underwater combo white / 18% grey card, I came across this product today. http://store.yahoo.com/cinemasupplies/lasgreycar4x.html It comes in 4x5 and 8x10 sizes and is made of plastic. Hope this helps.
  7. This info my be moot at this point, but there is a program from the X's-Drive to format the HDD via USB in Win2k or XP. You can find it at http://www.xs-drive.com/download.htm
  8. Thanks James. I had done a search, but I guess it was in the wrong forum. DaNemesis :freak:
  9. I'm a new owner of a OLY PT-015 UW housing and wondered what type of bag/case the seasoned UW photographers use to store and transport the equipment. DaNemesis
