Hi ClownFish Is your RecSea housing still available? I have the Sony RX100 mk2, as far as I can read/see this housing fits my camera too I’m interested in your underwater housing, but I live in Denmark, so shipping is a must Thanks for your time Jesper Rosendahl -
Thanks again Jim! Great shoots! And good advice....Still think I'll give the +10 subsee a go on my P&S rig. Cheers, Jesper

Hi Jim! Solid advise! Thanks!!! I'll deff be trying your "lock & wriggle" technique +I will back of a bit to move the softness away from the subject and then crop...I originally moved this close to use all of my 6.3 mil.pixel's and to max my pixel's one the subject...guess I got too close with the limitations of my kit But your right the limitations of P&S are many: Aperture/DOF control, focus point selection, real eTTL, solid shutter lack...you often have to guess where the fish will likely be buy the time the camera fires...etc Plus it seem's/sounds like that the INON also have an issue reg. edge sharpness....nice to know other's exp. The maximum aperture is f8 one my little Fuji! I stepped one down in the hope of less corner softness as I exp. with DSLR's max aperture also softens up the edges of an image....esp. tele/macro. Like my Canon 100mm and up(one a 5D mkII and 20D) This raises a whole new level of gear lust! ;-) Is the Subsee any better?? as I was originally going for an extra INON for smaller ceitter's

Hi fellow Wetpixl's! 1 post...be Gentle!...he he! Here is a Photo that I took a while back. Pink Leaf fish-Malaysia-Borneo-Mabul isl. Juli 2009 Gear: Fuji F31fd, Inon AD macro wet lens, DIY Ring flash-Dual Fantasea Nano strobs & Fantasea 360 focus light. Setting's: "A" mode, 100 iso, f 7.1, 1/60, -1/3 Exp, app. 1/3 zoom & Forced flash. Photoshop: color balance, sharpness and contrast. Only very small adjustments as this is a Jepg. Distance to subjekt: app. 15-25cm As is clearly visible the pic. is soft/un sharp towards the edges a problem I've encountered before and after! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.. So is it too tight? Framing vice (framing as shot) General comments

Hi a question: First and for most I think Dr.Mustard's idear is great! But doe's this incl. all?? Gear, shot's, pepole, tread's...

HI Wetpixel masters! I went to the consumer part of the forum and it seems amputated all old stuff is gone...I'm a keen Fuji f31 user and it seems to me like all the old stuff is wiped clean of!? If that's the case it seems hardly fair as there is a new model out every 4-6 month so all "old" consumer camera fix's and tips are soon of your forum?? I know my camera is just about as old as they get but I bet there are still a few us left still using old cam's like the great Oly 5060/8080 etc... My question is WHERE do we go now?? if you have decided to let us down...!? Hope I'm wrong as I love this bundle of info/inspiration and great guy's & girl's always up for a newbie question etc (Fuji f31,Dual Fantasea Nano's in DIY Ringflash+ Inon Macro)

Light Diffuser for Focusing Lamp
Neopreneninja replied to orlando_xxx's topic in Photography Gear and Technique
HI Orlando! I have sucessfuly used "Prinkel's" tops and other plastic tops from a wide range of consuner every day opjekts! If it's too clear/dosen't diffuse enough just use some fine sandpaper so you can "adjust" it So happy hunting... NB: if you can't find one that fits over the lamp trie a flat pice inside! that's how i made my red filtered light for shy critters!! :ninja:Hope you can use this info -

HI Guy's! Hoope to finde a dealer some were over here.. Have Fun in the sun And keep posting those aw inspiring Photo's Hope to have the time and money some day soon to particepate in one of your settings/wetpixel photo trips to pick all your brains...he he! -
Hi again! Forgot to mention one other CON: reg. Freediving: Shallow water 0-10m!! for perfect balance you'll have to exhaill to balance your self!! making the shallow water Photo sessions harder than most deeper stuff 10-20m after that your start sinking :-) But it's still my favorit!!!

I prefere Freediving over Bubble diving for all round Photos! I have Dived and snorkeled/Freedived since 1987...and I'm NOT one of the "Anti-Scuba" type of Freedivers ore wice wersa..I Love both sports and have allways taken my cameras along. My Freediving skills tops out at app 45m witch makes 2-3min. Photo sessions at 20-25m OK(30m if I HAVE to but a lot less comfy)! It takes some traning and a lot of time spendt at the surface inbetween...so your looking at atleast 1.5-2 Hours water time for some desent Photo time...I tend to spend longer! IMO have found that I can get a lot closer to fish and other bigger sea mammals while Freediving...drifting slowely down on the bottom in front of the disired big fishs lair etc. and aiming the camera allready...waiting paciently...they are shy at first but eventielly they come and investigate...and "klick"!! Twice I have had to hit BIG fish with my camera..ore else I have become lunch! Swimming really close with sea turtles/whale sharks/ Dolphins etc. is another... This teknique and the over all look from above is great for genral fish/landscape/spotting etc. But harder for Macro as it is harder to spot from above... Scuba is perfect for macro and shy kritters IMO! and spotting mico life on the reef ore other sea scapes... where as finding the same for Freedivers is a LOT of work but not immpossible just costs a LOT of water time. Rebreather sounds like the perfect tool for UW-Photo...but I have never tried it ore seen any one using it in years!! So to me it's a tie!!!!

Hi Alastair738! Don't they just fit around the arm?? you might have to take the "top" off and mont them that way...ore you can disassemble the EV mount and the reasemble it on the arm...I took the arm mount off. My little set up: I have mounted them( I've got two) under my kamera housing using "strips"(that's what we call them in Denmark / plastic "handcuffs") and blinding them with good old Duck tape as I use optical kabel. I have found the EV-contreller a littel tricker happy at the surface down to app. 5-6m during Dusk/Dawn Dive's...so I'd recomende blinding them. Happy Hunting

Homemade ring-flash
Neopreneninja replied to Alex_Mustard's topic in Lights, Strobes, and Lighting Technique
Hi Alex! As allway's your post's makes good reading and a insperation...I find it soo cool that you Pro-Guy's also are in to DIY... I "HAVE TO" DIY as I ussualy can't wait till I get the money...and I'd rather use my money on new linses, Strob's etc... Great Photo's and superbe exampel's..so I HAD to try it out my self... I too have made a UW-ring flash one a totally different scale as I'm a P&S guy. Using one Fantasea Nano slave Flash and a Ikea 9"(app.18 cm) lamp...other than that it's the same bacic idea! After seeing your pic.'s...I can't wait to try it... One question...why did you decide to use two srtobe's ?? the DIY I've seen on youtube use's only one! ....Happy Hunting.... -
Hi Every one! The angry Rubbersuit is back with another newbie lighting Question: I have just returend from a Great trip to Borneo..Mabul and Sipandan! Here I had the great luck of finding a good spots for Mandarin fish photos and leaf fish among other semi-willing Macro friends... But many shots looked like denmark at Chrismas! due to a lot of sand/silt in the water..the better one's still has some "white dots" from the reflecting sand/silt. How do you get better macro to close up's in sandy conditions ?? Different angel on the strobe? place the strobe closer to the subject ?? I did experiment some but never really got a real good idear of how to fix the probleme..as conditions change all the time... So what's the TRICK??? Thanks up front on any reply's...

Hi Again Devilgas! love your DIY sight...very inspiring!!! Tourght I'd shate this little pice og info: Found the perfect AD component for the FujiF30/31 UW-Housing in a Hardwear Store( app 1.6£ )... it's a 5cm diameter plastic "plug" ment for drain pips ore something! It fits perfectly over the linse. Ive made both a 46mm, a 37mm and a INON AD with this littlie gem.. I'm currently using it for a INON AD with a Ringflash(a la the one posted elswhere here)... It's still in the building/experimenting mode but a muck up test has so fare proven it works OK! next project is a Subsea macro AD! I'll se if I can find the part and post it with pic and a link.. Have fun and keep up the good work...
