Hi Al, Great shots ! I like the 2nd one too. I dive from time to time in Zeeland. Maybe we could meet at some point in time.

Hi Again, What would be great is that you give me the 5 top pictures of this gallery and also let me know what you would have done in order to improve them. I know that generally speaking there's not enough divers on them and some fishes are taken too much "laterally", and it would have been better to take them facing me. Anyway, any comment is more than welcome ! Cheers !

Dear All, I just updated my website with new pictures from Guadeloupe. I invite you to have a look at them and as usual, all comments are welcome ! Enjoy. http://www.thenrard.net

Hi Matt, Nice pictures. I hope you'll have as much fun with your D90 than myself with my D70. (I wish I could go for the D90, but I have to win the lottery for that ) Just a tip : I never use very high capacity memory cards. I prefer taking with me 1Gb/2Gb cards. Each one of 2 days I remove it from the camera, even if it is not fully filled in. And I usually have separated cards for pictures taken UW or on the ground. In case of floodings, you save some shots and don't get everything lost.

Hello everybody. I recently came back from a trip in Guadeloupe and mainly dived in the "Réserve Cousteau". Really a great place to go and very good diving staff. Here's one of my best photo taken there. Seeing the quality of the photos posted here, I think there's still a lot of room to improve myself ! But I think it is a never ending game anyway ! All the best to all of you for a great 2010 ! Photo taken with my old D70, 60mm Micro Nikon, Ikelite housing and single DS125.

Dear All, I just came back from a very nice diving trip in France. As it was very nice and as it changes a lot of all destinations we can see on his forum, here are a few comments. From Brussels, we took our cars and drove about 1200km before arriving at the village called Bormes les mimosas, quite long travel but we arrived after 12h. It is located in south of France (so Mediterranean Sea) near the Lavandou. We ended-up in a small 2* hotel (“hotel de la plage”), close to the diving centre (500m). The hotel is small and has no private swimming pool or so, but it has good bed, nice French breakfast buffet and offers evening meals of good quality at a very attractive price. As a group we paid 57€ per night per person (breakfast + evening 3 course meal, wine included). The diving centre was “aventure bleue” - http://www.aventurebleue.com . Really a great place to be. The boat is really made for divers. And even with 20 divers on it, you don’t really feel squeezed once on board (a lot better than a zodiac). You have time to get prepared at your convenience. The captain is a member of the national park of Port Cros, so he’s allowed to let you dive in these protected areas. Off course there are some conditions (not touching anything, do not feed the animals, etc…) But this is how all good divers should behave, isn’t it? We experienced very nice diving conditions, not much wind, no big waves, very good visibility. We had the chance to meet some big “Mérous” (in French) - Epinephelus marginatus (let me know how you call this in English ). It is protected there and they can reach at least 80cm. By doing this, the French authorities really saved them from a certain extinction. At that period of time, we had 24°C (on earth) and water temperature was between 14°C and 16°C. I enjoyed my dry suit :-) If you feel like seeing some UW pictures, feel free to visit my website : http://www.thenrard.net. Any constructive feedback is welcome off course. If you want some more info, feel free to ask !

Very nice gallery ! I can't name all the ones I like ! BTW, I'm planning a trip in Bali in September, are there special diving spots you would recommend ? (Sorry if I highjack the topics a bit )

Hello, Here's my best one of this year. It was taken during a night dive in Sharm El Naga (Red Sea - Egypt). This was my first night dive during this trip with my new SLR equipment (D70 - Ikelite - 1x DS125). It was really a magic moment to see this spanish dancer dancing in the water. I think I was lucky enough to take this shot as well. I take the opportunity to thank everybody who post on this forum. You guys gave me the desire to buy this (expensive) equipment. But it's really worth it (but I still think this hobby is made for crazy people, isn't it ? ) I wish everybody a very nice Christmas time and look forward to maybe dive with some of you in 2009 (who knows, though I haven't see many Belgian people around here ). Anyway, I wish all of you a fantastic 2009 !

Thanks ! It was taken during a night dive. I just remove some sand spots.

Red Sea Egypt it is ! Hotel, not flooded by tourists, but quite old (you don't even have TV or telephone in the rooms !), but it is clean and beds are good. Food was good as well. We were only 15 persons in the hotel, which has a full bay ! Diving centre very good, always helping you and at your diposal. The beach is "flooded" by tourists who come for a day snorkeling (who cares as you are under water). But from 16.00 they are all gone, and you have the full beach only for you... A very nice place (for divers only) who don't look for luxury hotel...
