For sale full settup for G12 with Ikelite DS161 strobes
Troutbum75 replied to gsdivers's topic in Classifieds
I'm interested if it's still available. -
What are the serial numbers?
-
If anyone has any strobes to go with it that would be great too.

I'm actually looking for a used unit if anyone has one they want to sell.

I'm looking for a Canon T2i 550D housing. If anyone has one that they would like to sell please let me know. Thanks, Trout

I am new to this and would like to know what people suggest as an easy setup for a Canon t2i. What housing and strobes would you recommend and what websites could I find used housings. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I am traveling from Michigan to Turneffe Atolls and was wondering what is the best travel insurance for the price. I usually go on a vacation a year and have never bought the insurance but now know how important it is. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Aaron Macomb, MI

So What would be an adequate tip for a week of diving in the Caymans. 17 Dives during the whole week? I'm just curious?

I know this has probably been discussed but I would rather be safe than sorry. I order a Canon housing for my 870 and it was shipped with the O ring on it. I don't think that I saw anything saying that it should not be stored on the unit. I thought I heard other people saying that they take it off when they are not using it, How do you store it? Do you fold it up and put it inside the housing? Thanks in Advance, Aaron

How much would it cost to send it into Ikelite for service? Just a thought

Canon WP-DC21 (OEM) housing vs Ikelite housing for G9
Troutbum75 replied to DrMark's topic in Photography Gear and Technique
I asked INON if they were going to produce any base mounts and here is the reply Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, INON has decided not to produce a mount base for the WP-DC21 housing. The only way I know of that would enable you to use INON lenses with the G9 camera is to go with an Ikelite Housing (and purchase their ‘optional’ flat port). -
Canon WP-DC21 (OEM) housing vs Ikelite housing for G9
Troutbum75 replied to DrMark's topic in Photography Gear and Technique
I'm debating on both myself. Does anyone think that the WA lenses will be available in the future? With not diving a lot every year it would be nice to save some of the money on the housing if later I will be able to add to it and get the same results. The TTL through the Ikelite housing only seems to work with Ikelite housings and the INON strobes seems like way that I would be leaning because they are lighter and have a focusing light in them. I just can't afford to buy everything this year, I was even thinking about just waiting till next year to buy the G9 and the price should be lower but I would like to get the practice with the camera, any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Aaron -
I'm very interested in this as this would help me in my decision making process. I'm also interested in going with a Canon 870 and OEM housing with no strobes. This is going to be my first rig and not sure which way to go. I'm heading to Little Cayman at the end of March. I usually only go on one dive vacation a year and don't know if I can justify the high costs for minimal use. Thanks in advance, Aaron

Those using the Canon SD 870...
Troutbum75 replied to lweissman's topic in Photography Gear and Technique
WOW those pictures look great for a CHEAP rig. I was thinking about the Canon 870 but I thought that pictures would not turn out clear or be all blue. That does not look like the situation from your pics. I was considering a Canon G9, Ikelite housing and strobes but that looked like it was going to be pushing $1500-$2000. But the 870 seems to be a great camera for both by using the Canon housing and paying about $500 for both. I usually only go on one dive vacation a year and really haven't done any UW photography but I would like to snap some "decent' pictures. That is why I am doing as much research as possible on the different cameras. Thanks, Aaron
