Sea and sea 6" bk7 optical glass dome port, with cover and carry case. Dome has small mark in lower section that cannot be felt by finder tip and does not show up I'm pictures. In photo I tried to capture it, circled in red. Far superior to acrylic at controlling flare. Dome is excellent for cropped sensor - Ive moved to FX, other wise would not be selling. 450euro obo (1050euro price new)

For sale; D800 with MDX800 housing and 240mm dome port. The housing has just had a complete rebuild (Sea and Sea service agents - Aquashot UK), and I have only had it on one dive since (fresh water to 80m). Also included is the backscatter vacuum system (in addition to housing also has leak alarm the housing has as default), which costs 300euro. Plus D800 original box, charger, plus spare battery and 4 CF memory cards. Will also include 2 micro strobe triggers (can be used instead of built in flash for optical trigger. I have also added an electrical connection for hard wire trigger of strobes. Housing has usual signs of ware and the left arm had a small repair due to an over zealous crew member, but is a non issue, it is as good as new. Port is in fine condition, no scratches. Price 2300euro. I am also selling the following; dual ikelite to Nikonos cord 50euro Nikonos to ikelite ttl adapter 200euro Sea and sea standard macro port 40euro 16-35mm nikon or canon focus gear 70euro 45 degree viewfinder 450euro

Aquatica Surveyor Vacuum Valve
nortoda1 replied to barrach's topic in Photography Gear and Technique
Hi Barry I have the "backscatter vacuum" system on my S&S housing, there is also a bit of play on it also. Been using it for a few years now and now issue. It is solid when under pressure. Give Aquatica a shout to be sure, they're normally very quick to respond. If its holding vacuum over night and doesn't lose vacuum by wiggling it as okuma suggested Id think your good to go. Might want to test dive it without camera. -

Hi Tim I have the same setup (D800 with Z240s). I originally used the on-board flash to trigger, but found it too slow. About 4 years ago I invested in Hedwigs "little micro strobe" (search this forum you'll find the details). I have never looked back, it costs 90euro. Had to modify it slightly to fit in my S&S housing but nothing too technical. It will trigger the flashes with sync speeds up to 1/400, brilliant. I like it so much I recently invested in a backup. I personally would not pay 500-800 euro. cheers Darragh

I had mdx300 and now have the mdx800. I've used a 45 degree viewfinder, and find it excellent; http://www.seaandsea.jp/products/digital_slr/accessory/011.html

Full Frame SLR wide angle corrector port tests
nortoda1 replied to Alex_Mustard's topic in Photography Gear and Technique
It's not just the width of the dome e.g. I have both a zen 230mm and s&s 240mm, not much difference in diameter, but the curvature of the domes are radically different. The s&s is significantly shallower, with the zen being far more rounded, extending approx 25mm more at the centre. Not a dome port expert, but to me it would make sense that the curvature is as important as simply the diameter. -

Would be great to see the results on the s&s 240mm dome that it was designed for.
