  4. Is your D7200 body still available? Please update the number of shuttle clicks. Thanks, Laura
  5. Have you sold the D300? If it is still available, I am interested. How many shutter actuations? Are you willing to ship it? Thanks, Laura
  6. We have a studio condo at Sand Dollar and have rented trucks for years. We also advise our rental guests on arranging rentals. Be aware that trucks are NOT covered by your credit card's car rental insurance policy. When the island accepted AmEx credit cards, we signed up for the AmEx Premium Car Rental Protection program. For an annual fee of $19.99 or $24.99 (higher limits), AmEx would cover your truck rental for up to 42 days! Amex automatically charged this amount to your card when it saw a charge from a rental car company and covered you for up to 42 days per rental. Most rental car companies and most businesses on Bonaire no longer accept AmEx. Their fees are too high. I have never used them but many swear by Telerin for truck rental. I have used AB Carrental, Total Car, Avis and Budget. I tend to go with the cheapest and get the least expensive truck available. AB trucks often are in bad shape. But they run and they replace them if you have issues. Here's a listing of many of the car rental companies on island. www.infobonaire.com/transportation.html Laura
  7. Wolfgang, I am surprised to hear that the OM1 is huge. I haven't seen one yet. But, I don't really want to purchase another huge system for UW. It's hard enough to schlep around the D80 Ikelite system, which stays in our condo in Bonaire most of the time. (I take it home for service every couple of years.) With any compact system, the shutter lag is a huge concern for me. I know folks who use the EM5 underwater and they get very nice results and no complaints about lag. I am surprised to read that you experience lag. I thought Olympus had improved shutter lag so that it was non-existent. Topside, I know what you mean about needing some weight in the camera body as a counter balance for a long lens. I tried a superzoom Canon point and shoot with a 40x lens for super telephoto. It was difficult to hold still, difficult to see through the LCD and tough to get long shots. It was a gift but I couldn't use it for tele shots and it wasn't much better for other uses. Bummer. Thanks, Laura
  8. Both of these cameras are at the top of my buy list. I am hoping the camera will replace my DSLRs for topside shooting. I love birding, especially shooting from our canoe on river trips. I take tons of pictures (landscapes and people) in all our travels in all kinds of lighting and all times of day. And, I take the DSLR in my dry bag on whitewater canoeing trips and take pictures of my river buddies surfing waves and running rapids. One attractive thing about the micro four thirds system is the crop factor. I am hoping that I can finally afford to buy a lens that will give me crisp, sharp shots of birds in a 600mm or more equivalent focal length compared to what I get with my Nikons and a 70-300 Nikon zoom (soft, not a good lower light lens with my D300). How will either camera perform for this kind of topside shooting? Laura
  9. I've been shooting my Nikon D80 underwater for 6 years. Ikelite Housing, Ikelite DS160 Substrobe, Nikon 18-55 lens, Ikelite zoom ring. No macro. No WA. All purchased used. Shoot my D300 topside. All my 500+ dives are in Bonaire. I'm going to Indonesia for muck diving and Komodo in September. Not looking forward to traveling with the D80 UW gear. What to do? I tired of my first UW setup (Canon G9, Ikelite housing, Sea and Sea YS110 manual strobes) due to the LCD instead of viewfinder and the delay for writing to SD cards. What cameras/housings should I consider? What do I lose (besides bulk and weight) by going to Mirrorless? What do I gain? Any suggestions to get me pointed in the right direction would be great. Thanks,
  10. Canon Powershot A75 with Canon housing in great condition. Used for 4 snorkeling trips. No topside use, as I have a DSLR for that. I upgraded to the Canon G9 and Ikelite system with external strobe, which I used for 2 years. Now, I am selling that (see ad by cboater) and using my DSLR underwater. Camera A75 uses Compac Flash cards and AA batteries. Has built-in flash and removable diffuser. I used the Underwater Scene mode and got some amazing pix. (Will furnish photos upon request.) Price includes home-made foam carrying case. (MSRP was more than $450 when I bought it all new.) $100 Shipping, Pay Pal fees extra. Laura

  13. Buy this lightly used package for $125 plus s/h and Pay Pal fees (It cost more than $400 new) Canon Powershot A75 Digital Point and Shoot Camera with 3x optical zoom Canon WP-DC30 Waterproof underwater housing with diffuser, spare O-ring and O-ring lube This was a wonderful set-up for snorkeling. It is small, lightweight and very easy to use. I just set the camera to the Underwater setting, set the flash to being ON all the time, intalled some Lithium AA batteries and Compact Flash card, pointed the camera at my subject in the water and began shooting. I took it on 2 snorkeling trips. I got some amazing pix in shallow water, especially since I would surface dive to get the pix at "fish level." After each trip, I soaked it in warm water, operated all the buttons under water and made sure to clear out any salt crystals. It's been safely stored in a foam case since the last use. As a diver, I have moved on to a high-end point and shoot (Canon G9 Ikelite outfit which I am also selling) and most recently to my Nikon D80.
