  1. At the SMPTE ( Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers ) Conference and Exhibition last week the 5Dmk11 had the same buzz that RED had the previous year. Panavision had a unit set up with one of their lenses , other units were set up on rails with follow focus attachments and barn doors and even Steadicam had one set up on rig for demos. It's shaping up for an exciting time in imaging as the digital medium and it's various technologies merge.
  2. Keep up the good work and fresh idea's. It's great to see that your efforts are beginning to pay off, lets hope this is just the beginning of many interviews for you.
  3. Johnson's Baby Shampoo is fine for both types of ports and as a mask defogger.

  5. Its come a long way since then John. I just had a show broadcast on NHK-BS tonight - 70% my footage ( Natural History Japan - National Broadcast - 8.30 Sat Night Special ) - the budget was stupid with $ wasted on flying crews in to location who failed to get the shots etc. It was a tough negotiation but thanks to my hardline I was still able to get real money for the job - firstly it was real HD vision which they wanted , secondly their crew had already failed and they had a broadcast deadline and finally it was just damned good vision ( even if it was of my B roll ) . It really pays to properly understand the customers position - in this case they were very needy.
  6. I've got a original new dome to suit the G9/Ike combo - give me a PM if your interested. Peter
  7. The options depend on which port you are flying out off. Your could fly Jetstar Starclass which would give you 30Kg checked and 10Kg carry on ( not including your camera ) plus the option to pre-purchase an extra 20Kgs baggage allowance. You can pre-purchase this in both directions and save any pain. Good luck Peter
  8. SMPTE is on on Sydney July 21-24 - thought there may have someone from RED there ?
  9. The big difference between Scarlet and the 5DMk11 is that the the Canon is real and is available now.
  10. Aquatica_Digital_WAVE_Canon_PRESS_RELEASE_2.pdf Just got this release through. It certainly looks like the HFS10 has got the attention of the manufacturers.
  11. Hey Tristan, Good to see you have managed to get your gear wet. Try posting the images on photobucket and link from there.
  12. I shot the 10-17 / 6" dome combo in Sipadan last year with no issue at all. I find the 6" dome a real advantage when lighting close focus wide angle situations. My 2 cents Peter
  13. Give the board and solder points a brisk brush with a toothbrush and some alcohol or electrical cleaner. Sometimes the circuit can be completed by residue from the soldering process. Good luck.
  14. Hi Stephen, Is it possible that the slave switch had been moved from being firmly in the off position ? It's easy to do and is enough to stop the strobe from firing.
  15. You need Johnson's Baby Shampoo ( no more tears ) which will help to get the water to bead off your port rather than Baby Oil which will smear and smudge all over your port.
  16. This type of misalignment is commonly caused by the on/off switch being in the incorrect position when the camera is first put into the housing. It causes the camera to be pushed slighlty out of alignment and often is not seen when searching for this intermittent control problem.
  17. I use the 6" dome all the time with the 10-17, and find the small diameter makes lighting close focus WA shots a much easier proposition.
  18. While I'm not an Insurance adjuster , we have done many quotes for this type of damage over the years. I am not aware of any unique claim for this type of damage being covered. ( some insurance companies cited a thing called contributory negligence rather than an accident )
  19. Bluefin housings are supplied with the STD Light & Motion optic while the Bluefin Pro comes standard with a flat port.
  20. Hey Laz , Peter here $825.00 send it down to oz. should be straight foward.
  21. Jack McCoy has been using a SeaBob with a video camera attached via custom housing mount and dome for Dolphin POV shots in his surf movies for a while - like Jim he needs indestructable equipment.
