  1. I’m selling a lightly used Inon S2000. I’ve used it maybe two to three times. Works perfect and looks flawless. Never flooded, super clean. Includes box, manual and remote adapter (not sure what its called but it’s a tiny mirror adapter that allows off camera lighting). $450 including shipping within the US. Int’l buyers responsible for shipping and any import duties. Click through for photos.,
  2. The acrylic on the dome is in great condition; the aluminum has minor cosmetic blemishes. Comes with neoprene dome cover and O-ring. The Lens and Fisheye adapter are in very similar condition. Minor wear on body but glass in great shape. This combination gives 15mm equiv. on a APSC NEX 3-7 or a3000-6000. This is a complete and very nice wide angle combination for the NEX system For photos taken with this set up (scroll down) http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=51046&hl= $600 including shipping within the US. Int’l buyers responsible for shipping and any import duties. Photos of the equipment for sale
  3. I just got two of these (http://www.filetransporter.com/products/transporter-sync/) One at home, one off site. Just set up the offsite this weekend. Seems to work ok so far (early days) was very easy to set up. once you load data on one, its automatically synced to the other. limitations are twofold so far. *HDD size limitations. 3TB. limited support currently for 4TB and no raid. This means your offsite is not raided for redundancy. *It could be my connection but the transfer to the local drive can be a little slow. positives *easy to set up *remote access to files via smartphone/tablet Don't claim to have a great solution really, but think i'm getting there.
  4. from an old discussion http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22252&hl=commandments
  5. Hard to tell on the brown but on the white bands to the right, it definitely looks like spines
  6. Surprised it wasn't posted here before but saw this on Facebook this morning. Thought I'd complete the circuit http://nauticam.smugmug.com/HousingTests/NA-A7-with-24-70/37777935_Dh2gVt#!i=3129249462&k=RZcRvdF
  7. Given what you are trying to do, have a look at the Nikonos 80mm. you can pick them up cheap on ebay. along with extension tubes. some shots i did with them here http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=50651&hl= There is also a solution from Nauticam to take a canon 100mm down with the nex Here: http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=51705&hl=%2Bcanon+%2B100mm&do=findComment&comment=341370
  8. very much enjoyed the segment. I grew up in tampa but never visited weeki wachee. thanks for the education
  9. fingers crossed that rumors of a 90mm e mount FE macro are true. would be great for both nex and FF users.
  10. a local (Miami) wedding/events photographer swears by Pro Photo. http://www.photoprostore.com/ she did some kids portaits for us. no canvas but the quality was nice. Other than that I have not direct experience as I usually go through bay photo via smugmug.
  11. As I understand it, and I'm sure there are those that can explain it better than me, the 30mm achieves 1:1 reproduction at a fairly close working distance. So adding wet diopters, such as the SMC, you gain a little bit of reproduction ratio but not enough to make it worthwhile. A +10 diopter on the 30mm gives you 1.1:1. Moving up to a +15 only gives you 1.3:1. Not much extra reproduction given the expense of the added glass or the focus hassles you would encounter. To compare, a 60mm 1:1 macro lens would reproduce 1.5:1 with a +10 and 2:1 at +15. A 105mm gives 2.2:1 with a +10 and almost 3:1 with a +15. Here the added glass has a meaningful impact on reproduction ratios.

  13. More fun with Nikonos Lenses. This time 80mm I hastily did a nikonos macro test at the same time I did the wide angle test shots. One quick shot with the 80mm alone and one shot with 2 extension tubes. I thought these were shot at f8 but, now as I think about it, I may have stopped down to get better DoF. It may have been more like f16 as shutter was 1/80. I think these look better than the 80mm on the nex 7. Oddly the lens vignettes slightly with extension tubes. This is a shame as the tubes are required to bring focus closer. maybe a wet diopter will yield better results? Just really an fyi. This is a very difficult lens to use UW, you can see I missed center focus on the second shot. The first was shot about 1-1.5 ft away (1/3 -1/2 a meter). the second was more like 3ft where the in focus area is (just about a meter).

  15. none. too expensive for me as of now! Have read some interesting things about Amazon Glacier. cheapest cloud space available. Realistically, its for back ups, so no need to access it regularly if at all.
  16. Indeed. I actually got to play around a Sony A7R + Nikonos - NEX adapter + some lenses. Here are some comparison shots with the Nikonos 15mm, Sea & Sea 12mm and NEX 7 with the 16mm + FE adapter (15mm 35mm equiv. & 180 degree FoV according to Sony). The FoV is closest between the 16mm + FE with the Sea & Sea 12mm. 15mm not bad either. As Alex says, 12mm may be good for wrecks and reefs while the 15mm with animals. The 12mm looks really good on the A7R, reasonably sharp corners and no color shift. zero lightroom processing other than converting to jpg
  17. Customary Wide Angle & Macro favorites. Key Largo and Blue Heron Bridge
  18. i used an off camera flash with my nex 7 and was able to push the sync to 1/200 with no problems. at 250 I was seeing black bars in 5-10% of the frame. this was topside. not uw.
  19. its mainly limiting for getting darker backgrounds and for fast moving animals in bright shallow conditions
  20. no direct experience but this might be what you are looking for. http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=49531&hl=%2Bnex+%2Bcanon+%2B60mm summary (+) best macro on an nex (-) auto focus nearly un-usable. autofocus may have improved as I understand there are several versions, but highly unlikely they would match native mount. hope that helps.
  21. Any reason why CDAF on a7r would be worse than the NEX series? happy to be a guinea pig here should a housing materialize!?
