I rarely shoot video because I don't have a lot of patience for the editing process, but I love watching other people's videos. I recently dusted off my GoPro and shot a couple of videos at Hanauma Bay. Millions of people visit this spot each year but very few of them venture past the waist-deep waters of the inner reef. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cry3FGASU4

Antarctica: crabeater seals under the ice
Devilfish replied to heynsheyns's topic in Photo / Video Showcase
Beautiful, when I went I settled for snorkeling, since hauling my own dive gear as required, plus u/w camera equipment, seemed too difficult. It ended up being a good choice for a number of reasons but I wish I could have done just one dive.- 7 replies

Are you in Kailua-Kona then? I have a few dives in Kailua, Oahu, with my metal detector. Way too murky and surgy for photography.

Forum Members Poll: Your first underwater camera

I also started with a Canon PowerShot, no strobe. Took it a few places. Looking back on my pics I have lots of green and blue lo-res images of beautiful places. When I went to Truk in 2004 I rented a second camera from my LDS as a backup, can't remember what brand but instead of a flash memory card you had to insert a 3.5" disk. I hope I can make it back there and take some decent pictures now that I have a clue. -
I realize a similar post was made recently but it didn't really answer my needs. I have a 40D with Ike housing and a 60mm macro lens. I had planned on getting a Tokina for WA, but recently I stumbled onto the 28-80mm that came with my film Rebel years ago and has never been used, so I think I'd like to shoot it for a while before I get any fancier. According to the chart I have a choice between a 6" or 8" dome. Over/under isn't important, but I am going to be staying in Okinawa for a few months so portability is desirable -- although not overriding if I am going to have buyer's remorse later. Someday I do plan on getting that Tokina or something similar. Any insights would be welcome. http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/2port_canon.html -Rob
