For sale: Nikon D3100 camera 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6 DX kit lens Two batteries + two chargers Ikelite D3100 housing + tray O-rings for housing Everything has gotten good use and has some wear and tear, but it's all in working condition. Dove with it last weekend and had no problems. $1000 for the total package as is. I have a spare DS51 strobe + sync cord and 35mm f/1.8 DX lens that I can possibly throw in as well, if you'd like to negotiate. Not looking to sell my lens ports but would recommend you buy fresh ones anyway.

Are you allowed to use strobes when photographing them? From what I remember of my Crystal Springs trip, that was a no-no as well.

I've been watching some old widescreen films, and it kinda inspired me to experiment with anamorphic lenses. I've been trying to think through some of the issues and so far I see: Finding an anamorphic lens to fit a DSLR. This one has been recommended to me. Fitting the lens in a port compatible with the housing. Manual focus and the minimal focusing distance. Lighting. How much of the frame can be filled with strobe light given the distance? Post-processing actually seems kinda straightforward for stills. Anybody have any experience at all with any of this?

I currently have this tray and arm for my Nikonos V and the SB-105 strobe: http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mbqqk0D8oR0JDRE_6snF6uA.jpg But I find the range of motion not all that great and have issues with backscatter. Can anybody recommend a different tray and arm?

Cooling Filters for Ikelite Strobes
derekcs replied to Aussiebyron's topic in Lights, Strobes, and Lighting Technique
I've been experimenting with colored filters for my DS51 strobes lately. I started with the Nikon SJ4 filter set and next plan on experimenting with the Lee CTB filters. Whereas I've been using multiple filters to get more stylized shots, I bet you could just use 1 in each strobe to get the desired effect. How to shoot like Japanese UW photographer?

Is there a defined Japanese style? Who are the great/well known Japanese Uw photographers? I follow one on Instagram, and yeah, his photos do look like the one in the link... -
Galapagos Sky 11-17 May 2014 Trip Report

What's the best boat/time of year for temperate water dives there? My one regret from my trip was not getting more opportunity to do cold water dives with penguins and iguanas and sunfish, etc.
