  7. I am also looking forward to diving with papua-diving, couple of friends came back with great reports. Right now I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that direct flights from Davao (Philippines) to Manado (Indonesia) will start soon. At the moment we would have to fly in a BIG circle from Taipei to Jakarta (5 hours) and then fly back from Jakarta to Sorong (7 hours). With the Davao-Mando flights we can go: Taipei-Manila-Davao-Manado-Sarong (more stopovers, but a potential BIG savings in travel time): http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2012/01...-be-opened.html http://www.mindanews.com/top-stories/2012/...o-manado-route/ BTW...I have emailed ALL the airlines and the travel agency mentioned in those reports, and not a single ones has replied. So, I am starting to have some doubt if this will actually happen.

  9. I agree with Divers Lodge Lembeh! My husband and I stayed there last year and so far it is my benchmark for any other dive resort I stay at. As mentioned before they are the ONLY resort that offer an unlimited dive package...that means you get your own boat, captain and DM for the entire day. Note that all resorts promote 4 divers per guide, this is NOT special, it is a limit set by the local government. However, Divers Lodge Lembeh is the ONLY place I know of that gives you the choice to pay extra for your own boat and guide. Also, the DM was using Nitrox, like we were, whereas usually we are on Nitrox, but the DM is on air. One minor problem is that there was no A/C!! This was annoying because I had issues with my camera drying out (very humid when we went in February), and I think it would be VERY uncomfortable during the hot part of the year. However, as I wrote before, Divers Lodge Lembeh is my benchmark when I go to other resorts, and so far they are still the best I have stayed at. Their service was the most polite and FRIENDLIEST we have ever received. The owners, Linda and and Rob, have trained their staff well, and it shows...from the service in the dining room to the guides under the water! http://www.diverslodgelembeh.com/ ------------------------ PS. As for Two Fish, I stayed at the Bunaken Two Fish resort last year, and had the most terrible experience dealing with the rudest, most arrogant and incompetent manager I have ever come across in the service industry! When I complained about him to the owner, he was standing right next to her...smirking at me like a spoiled child who knew he would get away with it. I have no idea about the management at Two Fish in Lembeh, but they have the same owners, and that is enough for me to put it on my 'avoid like the plague' list.
  10. Joe from Fun-In Taiwan posted some macro shots on his facebook page which were apparently taken with the G1X + some added macro lenses (diopters) https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.3...2368&type=3 They look good (although with a very small DOF) and he wrote they are NOT cropped. I have asked for more specific details on the lenses, but have not received a reply yet.
  11. Hi, Joe at Fun-In Taiwan will be able to help you. http://www.fun-in.com.tw/oc/ His head office is in Tainan, but just pop him an email and he will take ATM payments and send products out via local courier. I have been buying from Joe since I stared diving 3 years ago! He has good prices and excellent customer service. He also produces his own range of gear, most notably the F.I.T lenses: http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39600 John
